Update in 6v6 and elimination, 3v3

I'm going to swim through the salt and say that 6v6 is in a great place right now, ammo economy works great for these game modes as it promotes primary play and teamwork, you can't just rush in guns blazing and expect not to get shot down, you have to pick and choose engagements. Which I admit makes things feel slower. Overall is more relaxed and you feel like you actually deserved the win when you get it. The only thing is people aren't playing the objective in control enough because they want to protect their kd, but grabbing a few buddies to play with fixes this. Really curious how iron banner will be! Now, elimination, skirmish. Ammo economy does not work for these game modes. Sure it promoted primary play. Until everyone got ahold of a no land side arm or icebreaker. Some of the best moments of these game modes are the clutch snipes, the panicked shotgun duels, dominating with the unexpected fusion. And that was completely taken away. This needs to be changed! No nerfs, just a change to ammo economy so I can melt a nlb with my fusion or rush into skorri campers with my shotty and show them how deadly guns can be. Please bungie. Help us out.

  • Just change special to where if you do die you lose half of your special each time. Even for sidearms.

  • I have not played COD since MW2. After this patch, I bought MWR. I am sorry but I prefer COD MWR PvP over Destiny rn. Oh, for the record, I f*cking hate COD.

  • In 3v3 I try to control special boxes and starve the other team of special. It works a little too well.

  • I agree when the patch came out I played 6v6 and enjoyed it but then played 3v3 and elimination and I stopped playing after. 6v6 is in a good place tho.

  • I am totally on this, especially trials/elimination needs it special ammo exonomy reworked. Maybe less shots overall per round, but you would have ammo from start every single round.

  • special ammo restriction is horrible across the board for the casual players which appears to be bungie's key demographic

  • The only problem about 6v6 is that it has the least amount of team work I rarely see a full team with proper communication if any at all.

  • I think PvP in this game has dulled since the patch. I'm not really enjoying myself. The slowed gameplay really makes or breaks your team especially in 6v6. You still get those people who want to Rambo everything rather than play conservatively like the patch has dictated. They rush in, get team shot, and then you have to fend off like 4 people lol. And teams tend to cluster giving insane effectiveness of fists, stormtrance, and even novas which can definitely turn the tide either for you or against you very easily. Overall the primary balance is nice and even though sidearms are a matter of convenience, I'm still seeing snipers and shottys. Mainly icebreaker and invective though. But still I'll get killed by the odd vigil or matty or some odd sniper rifle. I give the patch a solid 5 ghosts out of 10.

  • I agree. Love the new ammo economy in 6v6. It spawns enough where you can have it most of the time. 3v3 it is much less effective. Unless you use icebreaker or NLB you arent sniping. You cant camp and wait for shotgun ammo or you get pushed. Invective sucks. Sidearms were fun for me before the patch. I enjoy using sidearms but even I am getting sick of using them all the time. Fusions same as shotguns. I do enjoy the variety in primary weapons. Pulses are still great, hand cannons can hit people, autos are viable again, and scouts are still good for people who like scouts. I think the changes they made to shotguns should have been played out WITH ammo to see how they worked.

  • Very true bit i have to say about all the complainers NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO USE WEAPON XYZ! You can still use what you want, have fun. Kd cant be really that precious its just a game. There is a counter to everything, exept lag and cheating but hopefully in destiny 2 that will change. Get good with a weapon that you dont really use that is what makes a good player.

  • It won't matter what bungie does. That's what ppl don't get. "It's a shotty scrub meta", "it's a sniping scrub meta", "fusions have to much range"! "Sidearms are the only viable option"....wa wa waaa. No offense to you but that's just how it is. Kids will cry bc losing badly is never their fault. It's (insert op weapon here). My weekly kd sits at 1.7 bc im wrecking kids that can't primary. Their not mad bc they think the game is unbalanced, their mad bc their losing. They don't care if shit is broken if it's what they like to use.

    • Okay. You're wanting to "rush into skorri camper" in 3V3 IF you had special to do so. Yet in 6V6 all is okay. You're okay with the campy play style that has emerged? Am I reading things correctly?

      • Alternatively have no ammo regen in pvp. Also a primary slot special should operate the same as any other sepcial. E.g. NLB, UR, Vex will start with no ammo and lose ammo on death. Sidearms should return to starting game ammo on death, or remove ammo perk from sidearms. Have a nice day buddy.

          Nah, I'd say ammo economy is fine still. Maybe 45 seconds instead of a minute to spawn for the 3v3 modes at the best. It is far easier to lean on and dominate with special ammo in a 3v3. The panicked special battles are no less fun or panicky in 6v6, so I don't see how that's a valid reason to revert the ammo back. Stop. Leaning. On. Special. Trials weapon report this weekend CLEARLY shows that people rely on special far more than they should. Only thing I can really see is keeping ammo between rounds. They overreacted with the special economy to a degree in this regard, but it isn't anything they can't change again.

          • i agree, instead of taking all special away during normal crucible possibly they would only do that in the Trials of Osiris. Bungie, if you would address this, it would make you the real MVP.

            The special loss on death should be removed from trials, 3v3, and mayhem. Seriously why are we losing special on death in mayhem clash? That right there is stupid. Bungie must have developers that don't even play destiny. Bunch of idiots over there at bungie.

          • Perhaps the reverse would have been better in elimination. You start off with special every round, but special never spawns. So you only have 1 and a half mag of special per round.
