Yeah it looks great but so did No Man's Sky.
Skepticism is safety.

Too much skepticism is bad though, I'm like that with movies. I thought ant man would be shit but then I watched a review from red letter media and gave it a chance and actually liked it
-
For the gaming industry, you can never be too skeptical. The worst thing that could happen is the game turns out bad and you don't get affected. The best is that it turns out great and you get to play a great game. The worst hyping to the point of preordering can get is that you just spent $60+ on a dud. The best is that it turns out great and you get to play a great game.
-
Skepticism isn't pessimism.
-
Pls dont mention nms the the 4 years hype still hurts
-
Failing to acknowledge it will only result in remaking the mistake.

Caution while buying videogames is always advised. Not just with NMS but even worse with say Alien Colonial Marines. That being said they game (HZD) is properly exposed, getting early reviews and lot of gameplay coverage, a sign that the publisher is confident in the game. In contrast with NMS, which had late reviews, coverage was very unclear and restricted, the developer lied about several features and YT vids got taken down by Sony before launch....all redflags in my book.
-
On top of that this dev has never attempted or done anything nearly this ambitious or big.

Edited by ABeardedViking: 2/22/2017 6:51:24 AMNMS never looked great and I find it hard to believe that this many people went out and bought the game. And why does every one reference NMS when a new game comes out. People have been hyping games way before NMS. And a lot more of been awesome then disappointments too
-
Because NMS is a perfect modern example of what hype can do to both a developer and fans.
-
But again it's not the only modern game to have hype around it. Witcher 3 had hype and that turned out excellent, Uncharted 4 just recently Nioh. Again more successful games that have been hyped then have been disappointed
-
And I can name a bunch that had hype and turned out bad. Do you want to take that chance? Skepticism is safety.
-
I am sure the good out weight the bad. Unless you are jaded. I am really not skeptical of games, it allows me to still enjoy gaming as long as I have
-
I'll take what I said to someone else:[quote]The worst thing that could happen is the game turns out bad and you don't get affected. True but no reviews came out for no mans sky before release. They they knew better than to do that cause they knew how crap there game was going to be. With Horizon all the early review copy's were sent out and it's got nothing but great things to say about it. No mans sky was a joke.
-
And this game could be too. There is no way to know for sure before launch. All I'm saying is that people should tone back their expectations a bit.
