Perks like exhumed, gorilla fighter, take a knee, etc. were implemented in the game to make it harder for you to get your ideal/god roll you wanted on your gun. If they removed perks like those or made them actually desirable, there would be no need for you to keep grinding PVE content senselessly.
Isn't grinding the same strike 500 times only to get 10 Imago's or Grasps with Exhumed + Take a Knee so much better than grinding 80 raids for elite-tier endgame loot like we did in Y1?

Having a random exotic drop at the end of a level 28 strike was insane, or having your first ghally drop from deathsingers. That is what is missing from Destiny now. Now before anyone says 'rose tinted glasses" that is not the case. It is very anti-climatic getting any sort of exotic weapon nowadays, thanks to 3 of coins. Those things are one of the worst ideas Bungie has implemented in the game. It takes all the excitement out of the game. Raid weapons now are pretty much a complete joke since Crota, save for a few. They used to be basically unmatched in the armory except for a couple "real exotic" weapons. Raiding in yr 1 used to be something that i and my fireteam would get excited as hell about doing on the weekend. We would have a blast doing Crota and VOG. If we beat, we beat it, if not, we had a great time trying. Sadly that hasnt been the case since then, now all everyone wants to do is chase garbage loot and be assholes to everyone. I dont know what happened to this community, but it needs to take a step back and appreciate what we really had in the beginning. I know the game was brand new and exciting at the time, but ive gotten all the dlcs and was still pumped to check them out and have fun with my friends in doing so. Bungie didnt have to listen to all the whiners, they chose too. Lets hope they grow some balls and ignore all this shit talk moving forward. Just miss the simpler times and grind. Long rant over

If that was the case, how come none of the RoI weapons are capable of rolling with Exumed or Guerrilla Fighter?

The point is this is so situational that you will never use it.

Gorilla fighter: increased damage when inside structures? It would function if you were in a building on Memento or Willows Court shooting at people who were outside? Idk. Seems to fit the perk name.

For the perk to work you have to be kneeling behind something, in which when you aim it auto-props you up, thus proccing the perk

Small sidenote: generally hate those perks but take a knee with my Unending Deluge is a PvP beast. I imagine take a knee is great on automatic weapons more than others.

If you have gorilla warfighter on a Auto and head glitch you are so hard to kill with the damage resistance and so accurate.

You shouldn't have to solely rely on perks. Any eyasluna can do just as well as a litc gun, same for pve guns. The gun is all you need really

Not necessarily true. Even two of the same guns can have different performances based on the perks. For instance, an Eyasluna with Send it/Hammer Forged/Small Bore will have greater range than one without those perks. An Eyasluna with outlaw will undoubtedly reload faster on average than one with only feeding frenzy. An Eyasluna with hidden hand will perform better against a moving target than one without that perk. You get the idea. If the perks didn't make a difference, people wouldn't be grinding several 100 strikes/matches/etc. to try to get specific guns with specific rolls.
