CONSTANT PVP COMPLAINTS RUINED THE REAL POINT DESTINY

Destiny is about as unbalanced as it ever has been. When you look at PVE it is. 3 years PVE players like myself have had to deal with the constant butchering of great weapons do to the ungodly amount of complaints from PVP players who rarely step into the real world that is the destiny universe. So the nerfing and buffing to make them happy never seeing how much it will actually effect the real game. Not caring about PVE players, he ones who grind and actually play and put time and skill into the game. PVP is not and never has been what destiny is about. Yet Bungie bows down to them like the vex do to the darkness. And it's pathetic, they wonder why nobody plays anymore. Not just lack of content for PVE players. We get the backlash every time somebody wants to complain about a gun in a completely different game mode that has no similarities what so ever. If they want people to be happy start separating PVP AND PVE nerfs and buffs. Everyone wants it, listen to me Bungie. I'm talking for a lot of gamers.

  • The pvp crucibitches can deny it all they want but this was designed to be a pve game with a little bit of pvp to blow off some steam and be able to kill your friends. The only issue was that the pve was so damn lacklustre that it quickly shifted to a pvp oriented game. Each of these patches gets more pvp centred and it's just causing nerfs for pve. The sniper ammo nerf in year two affected how we had to do the raid because half the -blam!-ing snipers I used personally could now only hold 14 rounds (Looking at you my beautiful longbow synthesis). Bungie should not have taken up this project because they clearly failed. This games on -blam!-ing life support for Christs sake. Destiny one was just a massive beta for destiny two and they know that. The amount of incompetence surrounding Bungie's decisions is just abysmal. This is an excerpt of a reply I had posted on a topic about how pvp is in basically all exotic quests. This game is just shameful honestly

  • I don't know what happened to this game. It was sold as an adventurous social, online FPS game with a focus on cooperative missions and raids. Where players would battle the forces of darkness fighting aliens to be rewarded with amazing weapons and armour. We would learn about the traveller and understand it's role in the universe. We saw Bungie employees show off cool art design and talk about lore that would enrich this world. What we have now is a very average FPS multiplayer game with so many technical defects it's crazy. The main game, the reason why most people bought it, was reduced in scope from an epic game where you could go anywhere you could see, to the latest DLC with a 2 hour campaign, re released strikes and gear that we actually had in year 1. The current game is frankly just very boring - I don't really care about the latest patch, it was dead long before this was implemented. This is like the final nail in the coffin.

    • Bump. Destiny was supposed to be about having three very different classes/subclasses and having tons of fun, exciting weapons people can choose from. Three years later, the sublcasses and guns have been nerfed so much that it has really stripped the sense of power and progression from this game, and it is much less fun than it used to be. You can't have fun and exciting subclasses and guns, etc. AND expect perfect balance as well. Something has to give, and the dev's in this game have decided to sacrifice all for the sake of PVP balance - which they will never achieve in this game until all of the differences in classes/subclasses and guns/archetypes have been eliminated. But then, why would they continue to make this game then? They stopped making Halo because they said they were tired of making halo...

    • I'm sorry if people are going to get tired of seeing this but it unfortunately applies everywhere on the forums.😥 This is why pvp should have been separated from pve from the very beginning! A lot of your changes sound good. That's why separating the two modes would be beneficial to everyone even Bungie they just don't know it themselves! Pvpers and pvers. Here's the thing when I read your post I know exactly what you are talking about because I play the game a lot. The problem with Bungie is they don't play the game often enough except during testing phases. When those certain people at Bungie have the responsibility to make changes in Destiny don't play the game enough, they don't know what the players are even talking about online and in the forums. Bungie doesn't know when those people make good or bad suggestions to the game online. Why? We have people at Bungie who are making changes to the game that don't play the game and don't have an interest in playing the game. They treat Destiny as a job and a paycheck only. They aren't going to care how their changes will effect the community in a good or bad manner. Why, because they are listening but they don't quite understand. Destiny is like a second language they don't care to learn yet! For example the community manager that is supposed to be relaying our messages to the devs at Bungie, Cozmo and Deej, have no interest in Destiny and barely play the game. They just do their jobs as a community manager by reading comments (they don't understand) and trying to translate our wants and needs back to the devs as best they can. Are they going to be able to decipher who knows what they are talking about and who doesn't? No! Because they don't play the game as a hobby, we do. So yes we the community know more about Destiny than all the devs and community managers combined. The devs see the game from a behind-the-scenes perspective, coding, we the community see the game from an immersive perspective, in game play! Anyway I hope you see where I'm coming from anyway. Edit: Here's another thing that takes it a step further. Josh Hamrick and others like him are depending too heavily on the content creators. Why? Because they spend all their days in a 9to5 on a game they don't have an interest in going home and playing on top of doing their jobs all day! Of course they don't, no one would! They listen to the content creators too much and that's a problem because sometimes those content creators and streamers have biased game changing suggestions. They want changes that complement their playstyles only. Then Josh and people like him trust what these people have to say and then go make changes based on what they are saying and their data analysis. Numbers and graphs can only tell you so much about Destiny. It can never tell you the bigger picture. So that is where the disconnect between the community and the devs is happening! They need to put people in at Bungie who have experience playing the game and is more objective in their view point. That would take job applications and a process by Bungie they would need to be willing to undertake. Interview people in the community that would have more of an objective perspective. Some of these streamers are too biased to be suggesting changes to the game.

      • I sort of disagree. It does seem more geared toward PvP. If anything it's geared toward acquiring gear above all else. I do agree with you that, nerfs in PvP should never cross over to PvE. It's totally asinine. What good is it to have weapons that suck across the board? Sure, Bungie, go ahead and nerf away at guns like Thorne in PvP, but for crying out loud it should still be great in PvE. It's an exotic, that you have to work to get, that has no value in any game mode.

PVE is way too easy and that's why people get bored and quit, and I'm not trolling or being salty I love destiny and play daily. Edit: I apologize to the people that have a hard time with PVE I just read a post where a guy just beat Crota for the first time in 3 years and he was very happy. Also I played destiny on Xbox years 1 and 2 I mainly played PVE my gamer tag is Nauticalwarrior

        • I disagree. Very few changes have adversely affected the average PvE player. The biggest effects have NOTHING to do with PvP. Things like Black Hammer, Elemental Primaries and Gjallarhorn. These weapons were nerfed because of PvE. Remember all the idiots who would post "VoG. Must have Icebreaker, Gjallarhorn" or "Crota. Must have Gjallarhorn."? Leaving elemental damage behind was a bright idea Luke Smith had because he felt PvE lacked weapon variety (everyone used VoG and CE primaries only). Name me one thing they have nerfed that really impacts PvE that wasn't caused by the way we play PvE?

          • Well anything gets stale after awhile. We need variety because nerf and buff aren't just are not enough. Destiny has plagued with problems lately but dont let that distract you from the fact that in 1998, The Undertaker threw Mankind off Hell In A Cell, and plummeted 16 ft through an announcer’s table

My view on what actually happened knowing Bungie nerfed this game. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/222462117/0/0

          • PvP may have helped but PvE was ruined by a lot of its own nerfs.

I guess nerfing shotguns so you cant run around 1 shotting people is butchering the game lol. The game is fun now I quit in Year 1 because it took only a year and a half for new content LOL but now that everything is out coming back starting over on a new console the game is even more fun. I don't see how this game is lacking anything. People said auto rifles were trash befor the buff but when I got back I reckt with an auto rifle and apparently it was trash? lol if you just want shotty kills and stuff theres a game called Call of Duty you can shotty all you want.

            • Ive seen some numbers on raid and flawless trials completions... they are both tiny. While many do raid, raiding is not a solo activity and there arent many pve options to fill the time daily. I would be curious about the actual number when it comes to daily participation in all pve versus pvp activities. Im sure Bungie has the numbers, and it might explain their focus on pvp, so im not sure why they wont share them.

              • Lots of times pve players go into pvp and cry nerf, maybe you should check when someone cries nerf how much time they have actually spent in pvp
