I don't mind seeing sidearms getting more play.
But I don't like when you're forced into using them if you want special ammo. Because you don't really have a choice with the exception of slower paced matches.
This is just in regards to Trials though.
In regular Skirmish & Salvage I actually like the changes. It would be nice if you only lost half your special instead of all of it, but I honestly do feel more powerful when I have a shotgun now.
& there's constant ammo up so it's really not bad.
But when it comes to Trials, it's pretty unacceptable. You literally never have any special unless you run a sidearm :/

losing perrcentages of special upon each death (not each round of trials) would be ideal. and the pecentage would depend upon the type of special weapon that was used.

Most of it was simple math based on stats/spread sheets for the sake of manufacturing the probability of success for more players. The legs of the short and long games were chopped off for most players, shortening the playing field, and the one hit kills now greatly reduced across the board. These changes push most players toward a more forgiving neutral middle ground. That's the patch in a nutshell. Only the folks that want to believe they woke up better players overnight will disagree. As for Trials - The vast majority want a degree of separation from the rest of the pvp world when it comes load-out effect. This may answer that and more. We'll see.
