They shouldn't have made ammo regenerating exotics to begin with, ice breaker could've done something like the further the target the greater the precision damage.
Invective could've done literally anything else and I'd be cool with it.
And sidearms should've got the same treatment as all the other specials.
If bungie wants to promote using primaries they need to stop with all the alternative specials, ur and nlb included.
I personally like the special economy changes, it promotes primary gun skill, but nope, bungie can't not screw it up because of shit they already did so now we have this mess.
If special was like this from launch absolutely zero people would have bitched about it because it would be normal, but now all of a sudden not having your precious all game sniper or matador one shot kill buttons is a problem.
Tl;dr Bungie should've given all special weapons the same treatment and regenerating ammo weapons should've had those perks changed to make them incentives for something other than crucible cheese.

Or, here's a crazy thought, they could have just buffed primaries. I know, it's insane to think of buffing something when all you have is a nerf hammer but it is possible.

At this point that would truly make special weapons redundant. I'm under the impression that everyone wants primary gunfights, but they also want to use special. As we've seen that balance is something that's easily tipped.

This guy gets it. People will use whatever has the biggest advantage, and one shot kill weapons are usually it. When you clip the wings off all of them besides like 3 of them or so (ice breaker & nlb and the like), you'll get people mainly gravitating to those options. You people will call them crutches but people like doing good and the best weapons will certainly make you feel like you're good. If the best weapons change, so will they.
