Yes played and paid for updates. My mistake for trying to have fun. Updates should not be forced on us. Too bad you can't pass on this update. I had high hopes of something good coming out of this, but alas my hopes have been crushed.

It's day one of the new meta so I wouldn't over react. Also presuming you bought the game at launch for full price and every subsequent DLC at full price that works out to less than $0.17 US per hour of entertainment even if you never play again. I'd call that a bargain.

I actually have three copies. I have twin boys who I play with remotely when I am out of town working. We play as a team. So I have three Xboxes. Even though it may be a bargain, a turnip is still a turnip.
