I don't often join in on the post-patch Bungie-bash sessions, but I can't hold my tongue.
I watched part of the Twitch stream in which Bungie discussed the sandbox changes and the rationale for implementing said changes. During the stream, one of the sandbox developers (I don't remember the gentleman's name) stated that the choice to change Hungering Blade was based upon his own personal experiences, rather than being based upon input from the player base. I remember watching and thinking, "That sounds like a bad idea to nerf an aspect of a subclass based upon one tester's experiences."
Fast forward to today. I read the description in the patch notes and was extremely surprised to find that 1) implementation of this nerf inadvertently caused negative effects to several other weapons and subclasses, 2) this fact had been recognized by Bungie, and that 3) Bungie decided to release the patch anyway!
So the decision to nerf Hungering Blade appears to have been based on a single person's experiences. And by implementing this unnecessary nerf, many other aspects of the game have been negatively effected. Bungie recognized that this would happen, and pushed the patch anyway, and even remarked that they were interested to see how this mistake would play out!
Guys...I don't even know how to articulate myself other than to say, WTF?

Well said.

Wait a second let me process this real quick.... THEY NERFED A SUBCLASS ability because of one personal experience?!?!? UM HELLO LISTIN TO THE COMMUNITY! We did not ask for the Sniper nerf HECK we did not ask for this either! What are they thinking?
-
Right? They literally broke 10 freaking things trying to fix something I haven't seen a complaint about in more than a year. WTF!!!!

It's understandable why it was nerfed, which was due to the shortage of special ammo, it not having a cooldown per healing piece and the mobility that bladedancer has. The only thing that made cauterize (similar perk on sunbreaker) not worthy of being effected in this same way, was simply because it has a 3 second innate cool down per time where it will activate, unlike hungering blade which is per kill regardless of time between kills. Andn further more, the nerf effected many other important healing effects in this game that were not even remotely in need of change. These inadvertant changes are ridiculous and they need to be reverted.

Well invective will shot it down pretty easy and usually I can shut it done with back pedal side arm and melee

I doubt invective will do much, considering the nerf shotguns have sustained from this. It wasn't a strong shotgun by any means even before this patch. It may see more use, but it being effective is a different story. Side arms... both comment. I'm sure a decent bladedancer can get around it just fine, and it's not a 1 shot punch combo, making it even more likely.
