I've been thinking about this for a while if the collapse was extremely destructive why doesn't it just make another one and take out humanity once and for all. I believe that the darkness didn't even create the collapse. I think that the traveler saw that the darkness was coming and caused the collapse so that he could slip out of our solar system while everyone was busy dying, but the traveler didn't successfully escape for Rasputin stopped him. If anyone thinks that this theory is possible or if you think its not please reply to me your opinions.

What makes you think it won't?

1 ReplyThe Collapse ended and humanity was saved because the Traveler repelled the Darkness using the Last of its strength. But that left us in the Dark Age with almost no survivors, although the Risen/Guardians started appearing at this time and led us to the City Age. The Darkness cannot strike us in the same way now that the we hav already suffered the Collapse and the Traveler guards our last city, but the Darkness does muster it's forces and influences to destroy us once and for all. The Traveler was not responsible for the Collapse and did not try to flee, as can be seen by the Rasputin and Legends &a Mysteries grimoires. Rasputin detected the Darkness coming (it had to be Darkness because the Traveler was already there) and prepared weapons for its arrival and for the instance that the Traveler tried to flee, because Rasputin knew we wouldn't survive without the Traveler. But as seen in one of the Legends & Mysteries grimoire (forgot which), Rasputin fight with the Traveler (Gardener) against the Darkness (IT) and observes that the Traveler and himself are defeated (several grimoires prove that the Traveler didn't try to escape so Rasputin didn't hav to attack it)

The collapse is format of the apocalypse Only thing the destiny universe it is called the collapse Aka the end up everything humanity created Samediffrence like saying Let's create the apocalypse again by just grabbing an asteroid by hand and hurl it toward earth

Why can't men give birth. Same difference.

1 ReplyEdited by SSgt Carmine: 2/13/2017 9:53:59 PMNobody "made" the collapse. It was a fairly slow process, it wasn't just one big giant explosion that killed everything. It's just a name we gave to the downfall of our civilization. And no, one of the Rasputin cards makes it clear the Traveller didn't even try to leave, therefore Rasputin had no reason to shoot it down.

13 Replieswell the collapse took a lot of muscle and resources, therefore it takes time to create another one, perhaps Destiny 2 is about the next collapse? I mean with the leaked pictures and information on the mega bloks (whatever they're called) it's pretty clear the tower is attacked and things get worse. oh and btw the traveler was crippled by Rasputin and the traveler did not create the collapse himself. Because the traveler was crippled and permanently static he made the decision in creating ghosts to bring light to those worthy of wielding it, "Guardians".

2 RepliesWe still don't know if Rasputin did cripple the Traveler. He made a protocol to if it tried to leave, but we still don't know if it did.

2 RepliesThe more likely course of events would be: *Darkness enters the system *Rasputin fights it. (And loses) *Rasputin hides. *The traveler gives it its all to expunge the queen of final shapes from this realm (temporarily)

1 ReplyThe collapse isn't just some switch the Darkness can flip. The collapse was likely an invasion of Hive combined with Rasputin abandoning us (yes Rasputin was NOT our savoir against the "evil traveler") and the Vex becoming agressive. This lead to humanity being all but lost until the traveler blasted out with light crippling the darkness in our system. it is unlikely that the darkness could replicate these variables and more to cause a new collapse.

Edited by Michael77Christ: 2/12/2017 9:09:04 PMI don't think the darkness triggered the collapse. I believe the traveler did to stop the darkness. It seems as if the traveler activated a weapon as a last ditch attempt to stop the darkness from consuming all life in the solar system. In doing this, the traveler crippled itself above earth and stopped the darkness temporarily, but ended up taking out a lot of life with it. It's probably safe to say none of that matters so long as humanity/certain individuals survive.

2 RepliesI don't think this is what happened. I think that the darkness realized that it didn't need to go through the effort of doing a collapse. Instead, it could use the Hive to starve them out and basically get light from it. Also I think that the darkness doesn't really want to attack the traveler now that the traveler is basically dead.

It's not in the script.

My theory is it came to devour the travelers light. But Rasputin must have somehow known and forced the Traveler to stand its ground but inevitably attacked it. This forcing it to release the Ghosts which are peices of the Traveler. So the Darkness left since it couldn't consume light. Now that we have restored Light to the "Dead" (Sleeping/Silently Watching) The Darkness may return.
