Disk download error code (80710723)

I just bought the original destiny disk. I have havee played be for. But now it's asking for the software update 1.24, I tryed downloading it over night, I'm runing a wired connection Download was very slow sparingly but expected. Any ideas to what could be going on. I know it's not due to not having enough space I have 175gb of free space... I'm stumped this is the second try. Now going on 3rd it's 9:11am and it's at 2% of 1/12. It's been runing for about 10 min.

    • Hello SRChitwood, Unfortunately that error code is a Sony PlayStation error code not a Destiny code, you might be having networking issues with the PSN store and will need to contact PlayStation support for help with that error. PlayStation support Here is some steps you can try to see if you can get the download to work, first cancel the download then please try clearing your Cache then start the download again. • Even if you don't own all of the expansions, the game will still download the entire update which is around 32gb. It should show how many hours are left - if it shows more than 30 hours then pause the download, wait 10 seconds, then start it again. Let it run for 10 minutes and check the time again. You may have to repeat this process a few times to get a lower time - I know from experience I can get the whole thing in under 10 hours. Every time you un-pause the download, it will do a check of what has been downloaded. This means it will show "0%" when it starts again, but once it finishes checking it will resume from where it was up to.
