Why does bungie want us to use autos in shotgun range
I understand bungie doesn't want autos killing at scout ranges but the range fall off is absolutely ridiculous. They can barely shoot outside shotguns range without damage falloff. Autos better get a range buff in the patch because autos are dominated by shotguns, fusions, sidearms, and last word up close. Even a mythoclast will beat one up close. If you want them to have shotgun range, they should have fast ttk. Usually in shooters a close range gun should have the fastest ttk but that fast ttk is limited to certain ranges. Autos have bad range and a slow ttk which makes no sense. Only autos that actually work in their ranges are the bullethoses.

I think autos should have a lot of damages close and drop in damage on a slope scale. Maybe twice as much castration 10 ft and drop to registrants at 15 ft and then to half damage at 25 ft.

2 RepliesMy low range auto can shoot for max dmg for pretty nice distances. But nowhere near the dmg or range of clever dragon. But then again. Clever dragon is actually a doctrine of passing. Same firerate. Double range . Double dmg.

I hope they're working on an auto rifle patch to try and make the other autos more viable. I love the weapon class and would hope to be able to use more than a select few

7 RepliesThe problem is bungie has specifically said that they tune to exotics. And they don't tune across weapon types so for fear of making an exotic overpowered they'll keep the rest of the legendaries in the ground

For higher impact, the range perks scale, so as is the rule of thumb with hand cannons, anything with Rifled/Reinforced Barrel or Rangefinder should be ok. Auto-Rifles require a bit of practice right now, like everything else except Matador.

I've got a shadow price with pretty decent range The stability trade off doesn't seem to hurt it much. Drop off seems to be around low ranged pulse rifles It's on the Titan if anyone wants a look
