1 ReplyEdited by DarkMythos: 1/31/2017 1:53:58 PMIt's actually Pluto in disguise. It's trying to be a planet again and we just ended up worshipping it

Asking this is like asking why Earth isn't flat. It just isn't possible for the earth to be flat. Maybe the Traveler has a sort of gravitational pull of its own, which is why it's a sphere and not anything else.

A sphere is the most "efficient" solid in our local, universal geometry. It's shape has the lowest surface area relative to its volume. It would play that if the traveler is an extra dimensional, ontological being, it would take the most basic shape its physical form could within the constraints of our universe's fundamental forces and physical laws. Or it might be because a ball is pretty easy to draw...

The universal intelligence test. "Hey you, go find a corner and piss in it." If we can't we end up abandoned just like the Fallen and so many civilizations before them.

1 ReplyIt is the perfect shape as defined by gravity. Why is the Earth and all other planets and stars spherical?
-
Because cubes are for squares.
-
Maybe it's a reference to Halo 4 and the Didact's ship that looks almost exactly like the Traveler, just grey and orange.

What does a ball do when it stops rolling?
It looks round
God does not build in straight lines.

The Traveler was originally a moon orbiting the Fundament.
