I'm re-installing the game since I haven't played in a while, and I've had it downloading for almost 5 hours and only 6 gigs are done.
Before you say "get güd internet skrub" I'm hard wired to an expensive router and every other update is quick for other games.
So does anyone else have this issue? It's not the first time I've had this problem specifically with Destiny.

Edited by RAIST5150: 1/25/2017 5:44:36 AMMay be an issue on the mirroring side, or a network segment between it and you. Something you could try just to see if it has much impact: In your console's network settings, try manually setting the MTU lower...like a value of 1400. This will cause more packet transfers so it might drop your top transfer speeds a touch, but it may make it more consistent if there is a fragmentation issue occurring with the higher values often set with the Auto option for MTU. We've seen some networks drop their accepted MTU size in the past in an effort to guard against DoS attacks. It can cause weird consistency issues if the router has to split the larger packets into two smaller ones. Dropping the MTU may address that. Note you may want to set it back to a higher value afterwards. It will notch your upstream bandwidth back a smidge. Unless you already had high upstream speed, it may cause you to show up with worse latency in some games.

1 ReplyDestiny is the only game I own that takes this long to download and install. Everything else from PSN and Xbox Live downloads fast as hell. It's part of the reason I uninstalled it in the first place, it takes so damned long to get going again I'll have lost interest in playing it again by then lol. It's also another reason i'm not jumping on the D2 bandwagon, they can't get anything to work right it seems. Even the 30gb Master Chief patch was a fast download.
