I'm not a fan of nerfs at all ,In my opinion they are never the answer. However, something needs to be done to combat shotgun range. My preference would be to bring other archetypes up, but if they absolutely can't do that for whatever reason and can only nerf range for shotties, it would be hard to argue against it.

i think they should just reduce the firing rate a tad, so if you miss that first shot, you have no time to think about why you died and why your shottie didn't work..

With the other shotgun archetypes, I always thought of having a balance similar to the handcannon's range vs RoF. High RoF handcannons have low range and vise versa (think thorn vs first curse). We can have high impact shotguns get lower range than low impact shotguns.

there was a huge discussion before about this on reddit and crucible radio, shotguns range is already nerfed hard any more then it would be unusable, the real problem is believed that the ability for a guardian to get up in your face quickly closing the gap through movement, they can get up in that one hit kill range very quickly and no one wants to see a movement reduction.. i think the firing rate needs to be slower on harder hitting shot guns just as it is with hand cannons, high risk high reward..
