The reason we have yet to see a Cabal themed DLC is because we expect to see the DLC have a raid where we fight the Emperor. But in reality the emperor would be billions of miles away from earth on the Cabal's home planet. Therefore we would never be able to reach the emperor to kill him unless the Cabal invaded our solar system.

Everyone reading this post, I'd like to turn your attention to a few of the fortunes given out during the last week of the dawning. First: "The speaker dreams of both terrible and beautiful things." Second: "Nothing sleeps forever, not even the Traveler." Third: "The traveler will smile upon you." Okay, so you may be thinking "So what does any of this have to do with me or the cabal?" Well I'll tell you, we know that the outbound signal reached some form of cabal elite out in the universe. Naturally, it's safe to assume help is on the way in Destiny 2 in the form of a massive cabal invasion. During this invasion, something terrible will happen, causing the traveler to awaken, thus revealing the beautiful part of what the speaker dreams of. Then, it will smile upon us and give us the strength to push back the cabal. Boom. Destiny 2 story revealed.

Ya'know, a tiny little illogical part of me still clings to a stupid little hope that Destiny 1 will end on a chaotic Cabal DLC in the wake of the distress signal and all that. I mean, won't Destiny 2 have new races to focus on?

Easily the most boring, dull enemy!

Which Emperor would allow his 'finest champions' to fight for 'honor' against 'elite Guardians' who can't defeat a shotgun? Sure the Cabal Emperor just said 'NO' to Bungie, laughed, shook his head, and returned to his 'golf game'... However, as a consolation, he did agree to reconsider when, and only when, real Nerf guns were allowed. "I couldn't live with myself if any of your elite finest were killed by my soldiers shooting real bullets from real deadly guns, so I'll agree only if we both use real Nerf guns". Bungie offered Silver. The Emperor took out his 24c Gold/Diamond studded pen and wrote 'NO', went back to his caddy... Under his breath one could hear him mutter: "Silver, they must think were desperate for content'! "Blow up their sun so they can get some Gold"! "But, sir Mr Emperor, that would kill them all!" "Darn! How am I supposed to take them seriously when they scare of weapons that kill in a war? Use a dud bomb, they're used to junk already, maybe it will scare the Gold from their sun". "Then they will stop trying to bribe me with Silver!" So, no Cabal DLC, unless you pay with real Gold. LOLOL

Becouse phalenx shields are too op. Imagine if 10 of them are on the map. We would have been pushed around like a football.

Edited by ImOnPlate2Guys: 1/25/2017 10:10:47 AMBecause design process? An engine that is not optimal for frequent updates to the game? I can't blame you for not knowing those two things. But from my experience, that first thing is looong. They probably made 5-10 Kings Falls before they got the one they released... The final concept was never the only concept, so many "cool" things get scrapped, because of reasons a designer will never agree with. If I have to design/reimagine a new childs bike for example, I am going to need, probably four months plus. And that is with me working 40 hours a week. Creative process cannot be taught well, imagine designing the red line through the Raid, environment, levels, bosses, mechanics... And multiply that by 5 so you and the team get to optimize those, the coding guys programming, bug testing, player testing... and who knows more, I am not into software design, but marketing and sales and the CEO get their saying into it. Then trailers and visuals can finally start to be made (same process going through all the departments) and THEN you get a glimpse of the raid. Designing isn't just "I have a cool idea". Making it work is 99% of the job.

Edited by chickengoujohn93: 1/25/2017 11:46:25 PMDuring Year One (The Dark Below to be precise) there was a leaked images of what appeared to be a powerpoint presentation highlighting Destiny's roadmap. Original leak: https://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--mj_irPfo--/npociv7iewl8undkhzlp.jpg Clean version: http://bi9he1w7hz8qbnm2zl0hd171.wpengine.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Destiny-High-Res-Image.jpg As you can probably see, the contents of what was to be included in the House of Wolves and TTK (codenamed Comet Plague of Darkness) is pretty much spot on. Personally, I am beginning to believe that that Vex Void and Forge of Gods haven't been scrapped at all. Instead, somewhere between TDB and TTK I think Bungie being Bungie decided (or Activision) that Vex Void and Forge of Gods would become the plotline and basis for Destiny 2. Cast our minds back to the TTK. There are two unanswered plotlines... Praedyth and the Vex and the Distress Beacon to the head of the Cabal Empire in Outbound Signal. If they were truly scrapped ideas wouldn't these missions would have been cut from TTK? As for Rise of Iron, further down the line they figured out that Destiny 2 was not going to release as intended and Rise of Iron was mocked up by small team in a matter of months to fill the gap using archived assets, hence alot of reskins, a step backward in story telling, one new strike and a PvP mode that is as old as the FPS genre (Bungie's version of Kill Confirmed). Apparently WoTM used archived assets of what was to supposed to be the House of Wolves Raid. My guess, Cabal will be feature heavily in Destiny 2.

Edited by Devasstator: 1/25/2017 11:14:35 PMIf rumor is correct (and despite the arguing, they have been right MOST of the time - Kotaku) the Cabal raid and a couple of planets were handed over to the Destiny 2 team, which is the ROI was basically a 9 month scramble by the live team (and raid team) to slap together content for another paid expansion, after realizing Destiny 2 would be delayed. That's why ROI is basically all reused and reskinned assets (even more so than TTK taken enemies) and I'm assuming the 6+ year old Tiger engine is now at capacity due to how plagued with technical debt the engine is.

1: because who needs to use that 2.5 million dollars in profit? 2: because fuсk you, you get more bees.

No offence but this is basically what everyone started saying back in September, you didn't figure this out.

No I think it's because they're the odd ones out of Destiny. Each race has many varying Elemental types. Cabal have solar and one Arc. Each race is anthropomorphicly different from humans having four arms, four eyes, floating, skeletons for bodies, freaking robots! The Cabal are just Americans. 800 pounds and highly militarised. Each race has large amounts of lore behind them, teaching us about there history. The Cabal have practically no forms of lore that is very revealing in the history of those races. The Vex have the Vault, Fallen have the Maraid, PoE, Dormant Siva Clusters, AND the Whirlwind. Hive have the Book of Sorrows. The Cabal... um... declare war. Also speaking of war, they are the only race who do it because they want to. The Hive will dies if they don't fight. The Fallen are scavengers, looking for gear and machines. The Vex are living through a doctrine. The Cabal declare because... they want to?
-
D2 should focus on us repelling the Cabal invasion, you can have a raid on their flagship or some other crazy thing, and then the Vanguard can push for a counter attack just to find the Cabal home world be ravaged by a Hive fleet and one of Orxys sister.
-
You know what that's called? A sequel, wait till D2 comes out, the cabal will for a fact have their own raid. Maybe, they'll even be the ones who destroy the tower. Just gotta be patient, you know bunghole is slow with these things.
-
Because there hasn't been any Cabal DLC yet.
-
Cut content for sure, probably they expect $40 dlc for that

The cabal are tough, but boring...the vex are the most interesting, so I feel their dlc should come first, and I'd be fine with another vex raid before a cabal raid...the vault is still the pinnacle of destiny pve
-
Actually the reason why there hasn't been a cabal dlc is because Bungie didn't make it.
-
There probably saving the cabal for Destiny 2
