I don't see what good nerfing pulse rifles would do. House of Wolves is regarded as the best era for Destiny PvP BECAUSE lots of primary weapons were considerably good. Maybe it's time to worry less about making the game "competitive" and more about just making a fun shooter with a wide array of viable weapon types. Tune up other weapons so they can better match pulse rifles and encourage people to try different loadouts. THAT is how you bring fun back to Destiny.

  • HoW was so fun. Her mercy, Red hand IX, Shadow price, Red Death, Last word, Thorn, Her Benevolence, Black hammer, etc . So many weapons were so great to use

  • The video isn't about nerfing pulse rifles it's about how faster shooting pulse rifles have more range than their slower shooting counterparts despite the slower shooting archetype having a larger range value

  • Yes Destiny needs to be centered around being fun but if all the guns act the same way it will get boring as hell. The variety is what makes it interesting. Do they need to nerf pulse rifles? Sure, but only their damage falloff and possibly turn down their ability to induce enormous flinch. That's it. You and I remember HoW differently. Pulse rifles did way more damage than what we've seen here and auto rifles were absolutely terrible. Shotguns were equally as prevalent and the Last Word and Thorn were unbeatable monsters. That is not how you balance things.

HoW had its problems, but it was certainly a hell of a lot better than what's going on right now. I feel like if we reverted Destiny back to the HoW meta, tuned up auto rifles, and kept Thorn/TLW in check, we would be the closest we could ever be to having a satisfying, fun meta with a wide array of capable primaries where we don't have to resort to nerfing the crap out of everything.

  • It's amusing you mentioned this game was a shooter game because I could have sworn with the sniper and primary nerfs that they're trying to sway away from that.
