It is literally impossible to win in Iron Banner playing solo
You WILL get stuck on a team of randoms and face a full team of six, nine times out of ten you will be put into a match in progress on the losing team, and even if you get 20+ kills you WILL lose. This is not a problem in normal Crucible, but you HAVE to win in IB to get rep.
Fix your broken matchmaking Bungie. Teams of six should not be facing randoms, matches in progress need a cutoff time or score to stop pulling players into lopsided matches, and you should at least earn a small amount of rep for losses in IB, especially if you played well. The medallions don't do much good when you can't win a single goddamn match no matter how well you play.

It's hard to win when guardians are tanks and team shooting wins. But that's what happens when the community cries nerf.

I always solo, win roughly half my games. But may be because of where you live - CBMM probably gives you a different demographic. Are you in the US, in or near a big city? Maybe a college town?

No it's not lol just be better than your team or work with them, you have eyes, and a radar, use them.

Maybe you just had a string of bad luck- I was solo for three characters and still hit rank 5 on all of them.

In clash it is harder, but not impossible...agree with you about playing against teams and you are solo...taking me twice as long to get to rank 5...despite it still having fun.

It's about WINNING the game, not being a warrior on your own and getting all the kills. Obviously you're not going to win if you're going in solo. I'm a random mediocre player that plays solo the vast majority of the time. Plenty of wins and haven't gotten stuck at 5 medallions this time around. I think they should just cash out medallions past 5 at a slightly lower value. It wouldn't be quite so infuriating but there'd still be a sense of loss.

Deplete the map of special ammo every respawn and your team will most likely win lol.

While I imagine this happens I don't think it warrants a blanket statement. I am a solo player 98% of the time and I don't feel disadvantaged. As a matter of fact it's pretty cool when a group of randoms click because they all know the drill.

No trouble here. Finished my bounties pretty quickly. Probably broke even on games won/lost.

What does it matter? The crybabies whined so much that the rank system doesn't matter anymore. All you need to do is finish the bounties and complete matches for loot drops.
