Exotic Sniper Buffs

Hey, when was the last time you ever got a positive K/D Ratio while maining an exotic sniper? Oh that's right, maybe once, rarely twice, but that was when you only used your primary or secondary (i.e. Primary for secondary snipers, and secondary for No Land Beyond), right? Well I'm calling for a buff to all exotic snipers! Exciting, right? In my own words, for example, Patience and Time has no aim assist for at least one weapon, its really just a noob titan's camouflage tactic. And you have to have only skill and a LOT of time to trace your enemy, especially on Rumble. Let's face it, you'd really get killed before you get a kill with an exotic sniper. The rate of fire is not good at all, and the damage and the camouflage are the only good things about it. [b][i][u]A lot of people will say I'm crazy, but I feel that the developers in Bungie for Destiny should at least consider this, the sniper tier of player should have at least a few battle-ready buffed sniper rifles that will level the playing field for the whole community, because right now, it's not that way.[/u][/i][/b] Thank you for reading, and I'm out.   • The aim assist buffs I think are really only needed on patience and time and the Black Spindle cuz ice breaker (in my OPINION) feels like it has auto aim, here after is just a smooth sniper, NLB like hereafter feels smooth and crispy, and Zen Meteor already has a base 80 aim assist and can go up to 90. But every other buff you pretty much stated should be added

  • As a person who mains a sniper please don't change the aim assist or increase it. Aim assist is actually kinda annoying sometimes.

    • I agree, most of them need to be improved. All snipers and shotguns should have the same carried ammo capacity as Fusion Rifles, all snipers of the Hereafter archetype and below should have minimum 5 rounds in the mag. Hereafter: Reduce amount of time taken for blinding light to actually detonate and take effect Patience & Time: Very slightly reduce the zoom on the scope, fix invisibility so that it does not impede visibility when ADS, sometimes the brightness can affect your aim Icebreaker: slightly reduce time taken to charge new round No Land Beyond: slightly increase speed of chambering next shot

    • Yeah, exotic snipers really need some tuning (except for the Spindle). But there are probably other ways of going about it rather than make them god-mode weapons.

      • Black spindle is very nice in pvp, good aim assist and a nice scope. Comes with snapshot too, great with quickdraw gloves. Hereafter is awesome as well. Amazing aim assist. Icebreaker is a bit of a non factor, i agree. No land beyond is already better than other snipers in several ways. No change needed. Patience and time. Has too much zoom for most people, but it makes sense for what it is. Zen meteor is nice. Start the game with more ammo because of field scout, change to injection mold and enjoy good handling and crazy aim assist with quickdraw gloves or bladedancer.

        • Exotic Snipers are PvE exotics. Plain and simple. You won't be landing continuous headshots, or getting rapid kills. A brief blind doesn't do much in Destiny PvP. Invisibility is easy to see through (there's a joke there somewhere) and not worth the hassle of P&T. As for the whole "special with No Land Beyond" thing, I have a screenshot somewhere of a scoreboard from Clash wherein I got a 3.5 KD using NLB for 14 out of my 17 kills.

          • With the exception of the NLB, exotic sniper rifles IMO excels in pve more than they do in pvp. Players would rather use the TLW, Truth, and G-Horn because there the most effective exotic in pvp.

          • Pulse Rifles and secondary weapons don't need nerfs. Buff other weapons to compensate. Nerfs don't help. They just make the game less fun at this point.

              This is not just a problem with exotic snipers, it's all exotics minus a very select few. Exotics are vastly underwhelming and underpowered in this game. PaT, Zen Meteor, and NLB are very good in crucible btw. PaT in particular is one of the best kept secrets in the game. Near perfect stability, high ROF, excellent aim assist, and can revive snipe with aggressive ballistics. Invisibility is meh but it makes peeking a lot safer.

                Make the invis on the patience and time more usable. Instant invis when zoom. Shots bring you out of invis but 7 sec later ur invis again. Also buff the hunter invis. They're hardly ever used in pvp

                  • Depends though. Spindle? not really. It's cemented itself as a PvE exotic. It's Exotic perk is basically pointless in PvP. Even bothering to boost it to match current top pick legendary snipers will still see it virtually unused because it be a waste of an exotic slot. Zen Meteor? It needs a slight rework with it's exotic perk. Maybe after GETTING the super round, it stays until you reload, die, or use it, instead of disappearing. One of the biggest issues was GETTING those three kills, then just not having enough time to even find a 4th target. Also a fix to it's stat block. It incorrectly states it's got Spindle Impact, with 1kstare ROF, when it's just in the 1kstare archetype. And no, it's not "Explosive rounds messing with the impact", it does the exact same damage as the 1K with explosive rounds, and less damage than a Event Horizon with explosive rounds. Hereafter? It's blinding effect needs a buff. 100% proc rate, and at least a slightly faster detonation time. I can perhaps see instantaneous being an issue. And to maybe more merit the Crouch to zoom.. how about at the same time, it activates "Focused Fire" to increase damage at expense of RoF? On the side of that, perhaps giving the whole Sniper Archetype an extra round in the magazine. Seems weird to me that no sniper goes above 4 rounds regardess of archetype with magazine boosting perks. Patients and Time? a total rework may be required. It's supposed to be THE campy weapon. Invisibility in Destiny doesn't actually make you invisible, but it hides you from the radar. You can sit in a spot, go invis, keep an eye on your radar (thanks to third eye), and if some smuck with a shotty runs by he may not notice you because you won't ping so much on your radar. Issue is this playstyles doesn't work because even hiding you from Radar isn't good enough (as you still ping, just less often). Ice Breaker? Given that it has infinite ammo I imagine it being hard to use is a naturally good offset for it. Some of it's weaknesses, like Handling, can be rectified with the right class abilities (Hunter Quickdraw and Warlock Ophidian Aspects). Otherwise I'd rather not have someone run around with a super highly functional weapon that doesn't ever run out of ammo.

                    The PaT was meant to be a wait for your window of opportunity weapon. The Icebreaker was meant to be your raid/ammo solution. The Black Spindle was mostly a fan favorite that got exploited for a glitch it had. The Hereafter is just a long range rifle with added zoom and a headshot flasbang effect. The NLB is fine as it is maybe needs a storred ammo buff to 6 in mag +15 reserve with armor ammo. And I can't talk about Zen Meteor because I'm on Xbox but I've heard it's overrated for an exclusive weapon.

                          • Most exotic snipers are better for pve than pvp, with the exception of patience/time. And p/t can't quickscope so most people bypass it for a legendary.

                          • Giving all exotic sniper rifles extra aim assist makes them too similar. Some of us like the lack of aim assist. I had a decent KD when using Black Spindle and enjoy the fact that it has less "stick" to it.
