Best ways to get guardian sword kills?
I'm on "honing the edge" step of the exotic sword quest and am AWFUL at PvP. What are some of the easiest ways to get kills with the sword. I've done the quest for the void sword before but it took like a year to complete. I know you can get kills with the hilt. Ideas?

If you have a friend, go into classic free-for-all playlist and kill home with the hilt. If not, you could always try confusing movements, like crouching and un-crouching toward some one, with the hilt. And always go for low health people.

If you are a hunter, I did it in 2 matches by going invisible and then bumb rushing them. Works pretty good on smaller maps with lots of corners or short coridoors.

6 RepliesThat's odd your having to do that step again if you've already completed an exotic sword quest. It's supposed to let you skip to the farm mats/ability kills portion for your 2nd and 3rd swords.

Run around with the sword hilt and try to smack people to death.

Go into the inferno playlist for that week. No radar, and much less special ammo running around makes it pretty easy to get sword hilt kills which count towards the quest. It only took me about 5-6 games and I went positive 5 of the 6 matches. You just need to have good positioning.

Anything Mayhem. Otherwise go in with the Attitude that no matter what your K/D is garbage while your doing it and just goto work. =)

I did the whole thing in classic rumble with the sword hilt. Takes two hits and the lunge range is terrible, extremely frustrating mission. I did manage 9 hilt kills in a single match though, and only like 3 or 4 deaths that match

Edited by pValue2010: 1/19/2017 7:06:04 PMGot mine running around with the sword hilt. Pick off weak guardians or hope you can land in two melees. Not fun, but it worked. (Mayhem may have been a better choice due to lots of heavy drops.)

Play Mayhem. Heavy ammo comes in often

Haha, I did a lot of those with the hilt. It will massacre your K/D, but it's pretty funny when you get someone with it

Just go into rumble and free for all matches with the sword hilt lol that's how I did it twice.
