Sticky grenade
-25 second cooldown with max Discipline.
-Able to have two (except flux).
-Does not require a precision shot for maximum damage.
-Able to throw further with gauntlet perks, which provides better accuracy.
-Has noticable tracking.
-Will one-shot a max armored guardian.
Throwing knives
-29 second cooldown with max Strength.
-Able to have two.
-No tracking.
-Requires a headshot for maximum damage.
-Will not kill a guardian, regardless of armor.
In my opinion, throwing knives should do 110 to the body and 198 to the head. This will kill all but max armored guardians. I think doing this would make them much more rewarding to use, and they still wouldn't be as good as the average sticky grenade. This probably won't be a popular opinion, so if you disagree then please tell me why.
Edit- Most people are saying that its not fair to compare a grenade to a melee. I might agree in other games, but in destiny melees aren't just melees. They come with tacked on abilities that almost always serve an outside purpose other than just punching something. Not to mention both grenades and melees in destiny are equal in cooldown time, which suggests they should be equal in power. So no, I don't have a problem with the comparison.
Edit- I agree that if this happened then the knife juggler perk would need to be reworked.
Edit- Many are saying this would make them too powerful. Yes it would make them strong in practiced hands, but let's not make it out to sound as if it's just a free kill. Try to remember that throwing knives are one of the more difficult abilities to use and certainly take the most amount practice of all melees. Even when I watch great players who are gunslinger mains, they can still miss or body shot regularly. I think many of you are focusing too much on the potential of one shot knives without considering just how practical they are.
Edit- Its strange to see people keep bringing up points that I've already addressed. I think I'm going to call it on this one. I don't think I'm winning anyone to my side. I'm open to having my mind changed on this but my arguments haven't been refuted.

2 RepliesI agree. It infuriates me to nail someone in the face with the throwing knife only to be clever dragon'd or matador'd before I can get the follow up shot.
