I've seen a lot of posts lately calling for more guns to be able to two tap people and I STRONGLY disagree. I think that the only gun in that game that should two tap is Hawkmoon with two lucky bullets in a row. Three tap is just fine to me. I feel like a two tap would just bring the game to a COD like time to kill.
Yes we need a primary buff across the board, but I'm hoping they keep a three tap as the fastest time to kill (excluding Hawkmoon with the two lucky bullets in a row).
What do you guys think? And please explain your thoughts on it!
EDIT: if it wasn't clear, I am NOT in favor of decreasing TTK across the board

5 Replies2 tap is essentially the same ttk as a 3 tap.

3 RepliesThis game has never felt like CoD.
-
2 RepliesBungie has to make a damn decision. Either treat specials as power weapons, nerf them, or buff primaries. As long as regular ttk is above 0.7 I'm fine. The 0.6-0.4 HOW era was bullshit
-
Buff primaries make exotics great again

5 RepliesOnly the new cods have the fast ttk
-
4 RepliesHighest impact already 2-taps to 7 armor and below. They are balanced, as for Nirwens archetype, no, they shouldn't.
-
27 RepliesAnother game has Two-Tap capability, it's called CALL OF DUTY!!!! Guess what, it's total crap multiplayer. That's why I don't mind a slower TTK in Destiny.

8 RepliesEdited by Joe Bearrr: 1/20/2017 5:58:25 PMHaving a faster TTK will reduce the effectiveness of shotgun rushers. Right now it is around .9seconds, if it was .6-.7 shotgun rushing wouldn't be viable. If you used TLW in Y1 "correctly" nobody could run at you in a straight line, even though shotguns were stronger then they are now

I think what you're asking for is a recipie to keep this game in a place where special weapons dominate forever. Nothing personal....but the special weapon spam and the fact that the AVERAGE TTK is almost one second....are inextricably linked. I was playing IB last night....and was trapped in a lobby for a while where NO ONE was using their primary. Why? Beause when you do one of two things generally happens. 1. Someone rushes you with a shotgun...and unless you're team shooting....you're helpess to stop them. 2. You flank someone, get the drop on them....and they run away to safety with a sliver of their health left. So I wound up having to spam a fusion rifle because I got tired of someone being in my face every 30 seconds with a shotgun....or getting picked off in the air by flanking fire if I started tyring to backpedal to by time for my own weapon to kill. If this game is EVER going to go back to a place where primary weapons are actually PRIMARY weapons....then they need to kill at a speed equal to that of player movement. Which means a Kill time that is at LEAST 20% faster than what it is right now.

1 ReplyTake out ghost bullets and I agree.

2 RepliesCrucible was built for cod ttk. But bungie thinks theyre gonna invent some new way of playing an fps multiplayer by having small maps with halo ttk. Shit doesnt work. The primaries need a serious buff and thats no bullshit. Straight up how the primaries were killing during HoW (at least). Shit, maybe even faster lol.

7 Repliesdecreasing the ttk will change this game drastically. probably close to CoD in terms of ttk. Not a fan of that idea at all. autos desperately need a buff for their ttk, since its abysmal. pulses should have more range fall off, that way higher impact (red death) pulses will have more play, but the the ttk should remain the same, as long as you are within range as for hawkmoon, I believe that one should have all its perks replaced with something new altogether. if handcannons ever have the bloom removed or just buffed in general, that along with last word will just dominate everything all over again good topic though!

6 RepliesHawkmoon is a two shot with only one lucky round

12 RepliesMake all maps in the future much bigger and more open. Problem solved.

1 ReplyThis... Is a difficult question to answer though i think faster weapons should be 3 taps to the head (clever dragon and its archtype) mid rate should kill in 2 burst to the head for low armor enemies, and slow should consistantly 2 birst to the head

3 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 1/18/2017 7:54:40 PMIll Will and Lingering Song can 2-tap with Luck In The Chamber, fyi. They actually do it somewhat often IF you are highly disciplined behind the trigger. Yes, the "mid-impact" archetypes can do that too, but the higher clip size and lower range really cuts down on how often that happens. The high impact archetypes, however, have incredible synergy with LitC and allow 2HKO's to happen a little more consistently.

8 RepliesEdited by Kone19ps: 1/18/2017 8:01:05 PMThe handcannons that can regularly two tap have a very slow 1.0 ttk otherwise. It's a trade off. Hawkmoon is an archetype down so it's exotic and requires two with a normal 0.87ttk the others requiring low armor in fairly sure. Low impact is actually a very fast 0.73 but inaccurate and no two tap. 2 burst pulses is what I worry about coming back. Yes spare change archetype is too slow. But the current red death/hopscotch archetype is too fast for a regular two burst so it is low armor only. The main issue here is the low impact simply have no downside.

1 ReplyI find it crazy that a auto rifle has to land more then 10 bullets but a hand cannons are3tapping lol all is fair i guess only this game
-
4 RepliesEdited by iDovahBear: 1/18/2017 6:00:34 PMIf we didn't have bloom, 3-Tap would be perfectly acceptable. The problem is we live in the Bloom Meta and that ruins accuracy. People are tired of seeing their enemy live with a sliver because they didn't even get a non-precision hit detection even though they were clearly aiming for a headshot when Bloom ruined their 1v1. Also, any Fatebringer or Ill Will archetype will 2-Tap with LiTC, same as Hawkmoon, just so you know.
-
2 RepliesThe reason shotguns run rampant is because primaries don't kill fast enough to take them out before they can close the gap. That's my theory at least. But I do think that primaries should be able to two tap.
-
6 Replies1 tap please.

Max impact archetype of Hand cannons can two tap low armor targets without any damage boosts
