I have found one fix for the two players on the same network. One way is to set one PS4 to use LAN and the second one to use WiFi. Or if you have two routers like me, you can connect PS4s to separate networks. This seems to fix the issue but is not constant, me and my gf still get the error sometimes, not sure why. Just thought I'd share since it worked for us.
