Sauron vs. Darth Sidious (Palpatine)
Who would win in a duel? Sauron from LOTR or Darth Sidious from Star Wars? Vote and discuss now!
Abilities and weapons:
Sidious:
-Powerful connection to the force (telekinesis, force lightning, etc.), deceptive nature, master in lightsaber combat
-weapons: Twin red lightsabers
Sauron:
-Shapeshifter (can transform into a fair form, werewolf, vampire, etc.)
-Can alter the physical substance of the world through his power alone.
-powers over telekinesis, necromancy, etc.
-weapons: Ancient, powerful mace and a sword that he created himself. Now, I know what you're thinking, "Sidious can cut through Sauron's weapons.", that's not entirely true. Since these weapons were made by Sauron himself, and since they contain great power, they're most likely unbreakable.
Also, for this battle, let's have Sidious and Sauron at the peak of their power and strength, just to make things interesting.

8 RepliesIn terms of sheer power, there's no competition. Sideous was never among the most powerful of the Sith, but he was among the most patient and cunning. The reason Palpatine was able become emperor is that he was able to maneuver his way into a position of power, and set up everything the way he wanted, not that he was incredibly powerful. Sauron, on the other hand, was incredibly powerful. Sauron is easily among the most powerful beings of the Lord of the Rings universe that could actually be killed. In a direct battle, even at the height of his power, Darth Sideous is no match for Sauron.

Sidious could just crush Sauron with the Force and take the one ring with the force. Plus, if the worlds converged in order to allow this, I'm pretty sure Sidious would make his own ring through Sith alchemy.
