Destiny 2 PvP Solution

In order to counteract the strength of shotguns becoming overpowered in today's crucible, I suggest that in Destiny 2, we need overall larger maps. For example, you can buff primaries all you want but if you're on fire base Delphi or anomaly, shotguns will still prevail because they are close quarters maps only. Destiny 2 needs maps the size of Titanfall maps in order to balance out weapons. We could keep primaries and shotguns as they are and have larger maps and it would be balanced. Create the maps creatively with CQC areas if you are a shotgunner but also large open areas for sniping and primary engagements. Primaries need more range to deal with this generally and shotguns need to be powerful from good ranges. How much damage a primary weapon does is irrelevant with this theory because you can play intelligently so that you never encounter a shotgun.

  • Destiny 2 pvp solution. Don't have pvp at all. Make it a pve game which is what the community wanted and was promised. Release Destiny 2, get part of the team to make a team fortress / overwatch type arena game that is 100% pvp called Destiny: Faction wars. That way Destiny 2 can be focused 100% on balancing an enjoyable pve experience and the pvp focused game can focus 100% on being balanced and enjoyable for pvp. It's impossible to balance pve and pvp with the same gear, one will always be crap, so it is better to completely remove the pvp element and make a stand alone game focused entirely on it.

  • Not a bad post. I agree about the maps. There needs to be more bigger/open maps that favor longer range gun play. That automatically makes shotguns less valuable.
