They can't hold max heavy ammo
they have the lowest armor and recovery stats
and are mostly pvp focused due to their single target supers aka gunslinger and nightstalker
where's the PVE use/love?
Titans can clear adds and groups in seconds in PVE and can tank damage
Warlocks can act like our favorite Italian plumber bros and clear droves of red bar enemies in seconds
hunters we get 1-4 shots depending on our helmets it's disappointing we may have the highest single target damage but due to the lower stats getting up close with a subclass like blade dancer is normally lethal especially against majors and ultras. Look in no way am I saying hunters need a buff in PVP because frankly they don't their OP as hell in PVP but PVE is another story entirely their a laughing stock a fricking joke at best it takes a couple of direct hits to put a hunter into critical state whilst other classes manage to take a beating and push on thru with gusto Hunters are and have always been ridiculously squishy glass cannons a lot of single damage with no defense whatsoever for crying out loud they have to cloak so they don't get killed I can't keep track of how many hunters I've seen destroyed in PVE as I play as my warlock or titan I resurrect them more often then any other class it's irritating and honestly annoying as hell because 1/2 the time I died because I was too busy resurrecting that squishy hunter who was killed by Phogoth or Taniks because they can't take a darn hit I main a Titan and even I feel sorry for anyone maining the Hunter class I can take 4-6 punches from a reaver captain a hunter simply cannot 2 3 hits at best
What's up with all classes taking so much damage from melee in low tier areas it honestly doesn't make sense nor does it add up we grind and grind and grind for what to simply be killed from a lv 3 vandal that punches us 3-4 times when we have a lv 40 400light level guardian it just doesn't make sense shouldn't we take at the very least a massive damage reduction in lower tier PVE locations?

Fight me m8. *pulls out rolled newspaper*

Have you tried shooting them?

I think hunters are just right IMO, though I haven't played since RoI launched. Hunters ought to be really squishy, but extremely mobile. Too bad maxed agility doesn't really do much in this game :/
-
2 RepliesPlayed mostly hunter for PvE and can't personally say I have ever felt squishy. Bladedancer and gunslinger do need some love right now, as they tend to live in the shadow of the nightstalker, and maybe an increase to movement speed, but their defense feels perfectly fine. It really isn't that bad.
-
Not going to read that wall of text, but hunters are supposed to be squishy. You're not supposed to tank damage. As a hunter (rogue class), you have the agility/mobilitiy to avoid damage.
-
Dude, if you're dying to melee attacks in patrol you're doing it wrong. Bottom line.
-
Hunters are usually squishy as they're sublclasses don't make them tanks and they shouldn't be. Hunters are actually one of the best classes in pve as they have the tether for boss dps support and gunslinger can run celestial for massive damage. They are also the only class with invisibility to make up for the squishyness. Although blade dancer is not a great pve subclass it doesn't matter because certain classes just aren't meant to be used in certain gamemodes eg bubble Titans are stronger in pve though also OK in pvp. Although hunter jumps are not as fast as a Titan skating or a warlock surfing the amount of times I've fallen off a map then jumped back up I can live with the slower jump. Also SHADESTEP.

4 RepliesThere's a reason why hunters have the highest agility stat too. You're supposed to be good at avoiding damage, not tanking damage. Titans were made for tanking damage. It's why they have the highest armor stat and supers that are made for CQC.
-
You do know nightstalker is one of the best pve classes right?
-
Edited by Zephyr1895: 1/11/2017 6:55:23 PMWarlock's the Support, the Cleric, the Mage Titan's the Tank, the Knight, the Paladin Hunter's the Scout, the Sniper, the Rogue my point is, the classes have their standard RPG/FPS relatives, everyone should know that Hunters obviously aren't gonna be the front line soldiers everyone is trying to make them out to be. Warlocks Support the team with self resurrect and other abilities but can deal damage as well, Titan is the front line soldier that goes in and deals damage. Nobody knows these niches though and the game suffers for it.
-
Nightstalker is probably the best pve class in the game.
-
2 RepliesI have been a hunter since the beginning and have always felt that I was at a disadvantage in both PvE and PvP.
-
Maybe you revive a lot of hunters because they can't use them
-
2 RepliesI agree that both gunslinger and bladedancer is rather weak in PVE, but nighstalker is among the best PVE subclasses.
-
I've been rocking blade dancer since the beginning. Even before the pve super damage buff. You have to play a hunter like a hunter- strategic target removal is the name of the game. You can't shape the battleground because you aren't a tank, so you have to own it. Snipers, whatever jerk yellow bar is mucking things up. Let your team deal with everything else. Your super isn't perfect, but if you leverage your special abilities instead of running in and swinging that dinky knife like it's a crucible match you can take down three majors easily or a whole room full of adds. Use the class the way it's meant to be played-- with Subtlety. I always try to get to the back of the room, use invis to place myself where I want to be, and let the class work for me while my fellows keep the enemy guns on them. And if push comes to shove, escape artist and get out and medic for the team.

I tried killing a major captain in patrol today with a blade dance. Did not go well for me. The only relevant subclass in pve is nightstalker. GG works well only with celestial. The ways to use hunters in pve are limited. They are simply just not a fun pve class. Bungie hates hunters to be honest. Warlocks are their baby and Titans their master chief.

14 RepliesHunters are made for PvP.

Hunters weren't exactly meant to be tanky like titans
-
But hunters are meant not to be tanks, if you want a tank play Titan and max out your armor, it's fun I do it a lot. But hunters are just meant to be high damagers, that's why for their exclusives they are given a handcannon and a sniper, each class has its role.
-
Yep. Light is out of control. In most of cases it does not matter. In some you want to ask: Why stop at 400? Is 400 some kind of fetish? "This is Bungieland. You die pig! Get into the death pit!"
-
Edited by Porcratus: 1/10/2017 7:16:48 AMYour right it does suck getting stepped on. Fight harder is all I can suggest. All the Subclasses either fine rune your lethality or spread it. I feel Hunters do have good PvE capabilities. Are you a Gunslinger on the PS4?
-
You make a valid point,Hunters can not tank alot in PVE. They seriously need to be the only class that gets a movement speed buff. 25% base, then let agility scale from lv1 no perked hunters. Max being like 55% more movement. It's not that hard to implement, just check out Mida.
