I've seen alot of comments in forums about how Destiny players dislike using the Taikonaut exotic and don't see a use for it....well id like to make the argument that it is one of the best titan exotics in the game.
My Taikonaut loadout is only used for PvE including the raid. it is as follows: I/D taikonaut build will do with you're preferred armor perks and ammo. (I usually run raid armor though) the key to this build is of course using the sound a fury for your heavy and all encounters except (possibly) vosiks phase 2 since the sleeper is most likely the better choice at least on HM. if you couple the raid arms with taikonaut you will never have a need for a heavy synth (at least not nearly as often as with other builds). This in my experience creates a more less stressful encounter in the raid or in strikes and nightfalls and make DPS (especially in nightfalls) much higher because of the ample supply of rockets or heavy ammo which in turn makes it easier on the team you are playing with. I.E. i die alot less than most (again this is very helpful in nightfalls with airborne and raid encounter like vosiks 2 and aksis1 and 2) this likely would be helpful if using the dark drinker for captain killing at the seige engine as well to help with heavy drops....anyway i hope you give the taikonaut a try....the only time i take off now is when brawler and catapult are modifiers but i always wear it in the raid

I use Dragon's Breath and it eliminates the biggest issue it has

Before they re- released Gjallarhorn, I used it with a choleric dragon launcher that had tripod and cluster bombs. At least the launcher is arc, so Gjallarhorn didn't make it completely pointless. Still wrecks on arc burn ;)
-
It's ugly af tho. I can't bring myself to wear it.

I agree I really like taikonauat but I wonder if heavy drops as much as ruin wings. I usually us ruin wings when not fighting fallen. In the raid I use raid gear then that helm.
-
I will NEVER wear it for one reason. Excluding Twilight Garrison, it is one of the worst looking exotics in the games. (In my opinion)

If Dragons Breath never got a reboot, Taikonaut would have made it the new Gjhallarhorn.

Taikonaut + splicers arms. That curve it addd to non tracking rockets is deadly. Almost truth level. I keep rockets with tripod and either horseshoes and grenades or spray and play. The fun does not stop.

That moment when you're a Warlock...
I’ll have two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda.
I love using it with my Dragon's Breath. Especially on tanks and Taken.
-
Its best use is for becoming a shoulder charging astronaut. I get a lot of double-takes at the Tower, too. (check my titan.)

I saw a nifty build with it on YouTube awhile back... Taikonaut, raid gauntlets, and Dragons Breath. The guy was in the Archon Forge and was just lighting the place up, and heavy ammo was dropping for him like crazy.

1 ReplyI'd rather use a RL with tracking and any other exotic, to be honest...

Probably most would say that it's not that the helm is bad , it's just there are so many better uses for an exotic slot than the taikonaut ....

3 RepliesIt is in the top 5, but it's way to ugly and looks outta place. My buddy try's to wear it, and I make fun of him until he changes it lol

7 RepliesI used it before I got the twightlight.
