In order for Reach to be at its full competitive potential, the randomness that comes with reticule bloom needs to be removed.
Will there be an option to do this in customs? I for one, will only buy Reach if it functions as a competitive fps, and as of now, it does not.
So Bungie, will you live up to your promise of customization to make all parties happy? Even if your settings and your Halo Reach is completely broken, I'd prefer a way to play this game that wasn't catered to 10 year olds with ADHD who can't stand losing, and the first step to do this seems to be an option to remove bloom.
Thanks for your Time.

He doesn't understand how outcomes (timing bloom vs. spamming bloom) is a major flaw in Reach. It can lead to many random outcomes that this poor little fellow cannot comprehend. Maybe he needs to understand this a little bit clearer. Spamming trigger at close range vs. timing shots (slower shooting) at close range ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Is inconsistent and leads to random outcomes.
After all, murdur says that flag juggling is an exploit right? I hope we can get the bloom away, its crap.

If the reticle is slightly larger than the enemy, you might as well take the shot because chances are, you will hit. If you beat other players this way, fine. You are using the gameplay mechanic in a way that optimizes the amount of damage you dish out. You are pretty much doing what you are supposed to be doing.
Posted by: A random loser More skill = Less competitive? I don't understand.
It isnt skill. ITs just spam at close range, and the winner is chosen by LUCK. Why bother to carefully aim your shot, because you can shoot 3 times faster when u dont. In close range it is useless to wait the bloom. Bloom makes tha game SO slow paced that i hate it already.
Posted by: NERF THE FRAGS
Posted by: Slayerz116 I have an idea for bungie. Keep the bloom. Just add an option for players to choose whether they want the HUD to show the bloom or not. Since the bloom are technically in the previous halo games, but are just not shown clearly. If players realise, once people start firing blindly, namely the automatic weapons, the shots can also go outside the reticle. Well it i think its an exception of the battle rifle. Its more of a psychological thing. People THINK its different but its almost the same. Its just that the bloom indicator gives the player something more to worry about. ps. can someone help me test how accurate the "bullets" of the covenant carbines are? Since it is the closest you can get to the DMR or the Needle rifle.
Bloom was not present for every weapon in all the games. Weapons like the BR had no bloom.
True, but a lot of people argue that bloom is something completely new and it will ruin the core of Halo. Those people fail to realize that the Halo ce pistol had bloom. The people who think that bloom changes Halo too much are mostly people who use Halo 3 to define how Halo is meant to be played. Halo ce had undisplayed bloom and no one complained about it. In fact, most people consider it to be the best Halo. However, as soon as Reach introduced it, everyone complained.
Posted by: MURDUR 587 Spamming your trigger at close range is a good decision, while waiting for your bloom to fully reset at that range is not. No,why? simple. The player with perfect timing and accuracy would wait 1.19x the amount of time of the shot delay so he gets the same shots in with significant increase in accuracy. Now why would player with perfect aim win you ask? i shall answer that by answering another question. Why do players complain about there being not enough ammo in guns? Because they have bad aim and timing so either most of their shots miss or their final shot isn't a headshot. Any situation besides point blank the spammer will lose because he will undoubtably miss a single shot.
Explanation!!1! Now i'm not saying that it's impossible to get a spamming five shot kill at close+ range,i'm saying the chances are so miniscule that it happening is 1/1000000,this being against someone with perfect aim and timing, and impossible if up against a average player.
Posted by: Lies Are you serious? This whole time you've been touting reticule bloom as a good inclusion because it takes skill and now you're saying that ignoring it is a "good decision". Get some consistency, please. As for you assertion that people cannot spam the trigger, get lucky and score a kill, well that is completely false. I've done it and seen it done in the beta. Because you seem to have a hard time understanding this, I'll reiterate it. Player A can aim perfectly, time his shots perfectly, and STILL lose because Player B decided to spam his shots and therefore land his shots faster. He should have been punished for shooting so quickly but because the projectiles are random, they managed to hit due to luck. You can do everything correctly and still lose because someone got lucky. That is irrefutable and if you believe otherwise then it shows you understand nothing about this conversation.
Spamming your trigger at close range is a good decision, while waiting for your bloom to fully reset at that range is not.
