I think there is a bug with the Nemesis Star and armor that boosts machine gun ammo. With Field Scout the max capacity is 151 rounds. Adding chest and/or leg armor increases that value by 1 per armor piece. For example the max ammo I get by using Field Scout, Armamentarium, and leg armor all boosting ammo reserves is 153.
This has to be a bug. Please look into it.
Edit: Cozmo's response:
[quote]Thanks for posting this, I will look into it.
Edit: It looks like it is hitting the max ammo cap with Field Scout.

Thanks Cozmo for the follow-up and helpful link.
While I'm a bit bummed that Heavy ammo is capped with Field Scout with no option to increase further, it does present the option of running armor for more Primary/Special ammo or running ammo buff with different ballistics or central perks such as Perfect Balance or Flared Magwell instead.
The more you know (cue music)...

19 RepliesHeavies seem to have all sorts of problems lately Abbadon and Nova Mortis have year 1 stability from Thunderlord Swords with radegast's artifact don't get the extra ammo unless equiped, even from a synth The blast radius for Sound and Fury sucks more than it should Young Wolves Howl is still unusable for a number of reasons compared to its competition There are probably even more i dont know about

2 Repliesdoesn't field scout give you the max amount of reserve ammo, so that may be why the armor ammo upgrade only gives 1 extra bullet... but idk

5 RepliesSilvered dread MG with field scout gets 70+ rounds from ammo in PVP. I aint complaining but I feel like that's got to be bugged.. the swarm gets 30 bullets and is a 4 shot kill.. just like silvered dread is. You can get a 10 kill streak from one heavy ammo crate which hasn't been possible since year 1.

1 ReplyEdited by haphazardlynamed: 1/5/2017 3:06:16 AMpretty sure my chestpiece that increases Sniper ammo gives me just 1 more round. Kinda, not worth it. Good ol' Bungie .04% logic

6 RepliesThat's normal. Sword ammo does the same thing. The Heavy Ammo buff is designed for rocket launchers where having +1 or +2 rockets actually does some good. For Machine Guns or Swords you only get +1 or +2 ammo. It's always been that way, even before swords existed. Ideally what Bungie should do is change it so the Heavy Ammo buff adds +20% Ammo. So on a Rocket Launcher you'd go from 5 to 6 or 7 depending on if it was +20% or +40%. A machine gun or sword would go from 150 to 180 or 210 depending.

5 RepliesI got 8 extra bullets on my Chaotic Neutral with Fr0st-EE5. Might just be Nemesis Star.

Nemesis star has a high inventory stat, so those perks have little effect on the weapon. working as intended. PS. My year 1 LDR starts with 18 rounds without any ammo perks and 19 with special+sniper boots if it wasn't so then it will be holding close to 35 rounds and that will be the definition of broken

2 RepliesMy Unending Deluge III with Leg Armor and Armamentarium gives me 260+ ammo...

It's been like that since year one with field scout, and I'm pretty sure it's working as intended

I've noticed this on several weapons. They need to fix this. If you have field scout and choose to wear armor that increases the amount carried it should go up. It should not be capped.

2 Repliesold news is old.

And while we're at it, Sleeper Simulant should get more ammo from fusion rifle ammo perks.

This actually happened a lot in Y1. See, you only ever really needed one ammo buff for most weapons that was applied on your armor if it had field scout. If you put on two bonuses for any MG, usually, even in Y1, the most it would do it give you was 1 more bullet.
-
All machine guns w field scout and heavy booster a max before all apply. Pretty lame.

10 RepliesNot just Nemesis. MGs in general suck from lack of ammo reserves. Ever since the year 2 nerf. Thanks crucibabies!
