Combat rating is an algorithm made by Bungie that is used to judge the skills of players. But, as I look on Destiny Tracker and saw my combat rating over the past week, I see it has dropped. And yet in 80% of the games I've played in that week, the Combat Rating I scored is higher than my current.
I'm asking this question to see if I can find a consistent show of skill in the community, since K.D. seems to show less direct results than we'd like. Combat Rating, on the other hand, seems to have three parties that we can group in.
The first sit between 50-80 combat rating, and these people seem to be the below average.
Then we get to 80-90 that sit at the perfect average.
Then, the people who sit from 95 to 100 are the above average, but not too far above.
The next rating, 105 or so to 120, are the far above average, I'd say.

Edited by irocss85: 1/4/2017 2:50:34 PMWith out reading the description on bungie, I'm pretty sure it's a measure of your performance in the games. You can have a negative kd in rift, but ignite the rift a couple times and you're cr is way up there. The people who play well objectively and get the upper echelon of kills per game is where all the cr go's. Kind of look at it as typical placement in the points getter per match. I have 107 or 108 something average cr, and usually in the top points in the lobby per match. But that's mainly cause I play with a couple weaker players. So on average I'm in a weaker lobbby then me often. My performances are all over the place when I play by myself, due to playing against a lobby full of positive kd players. Keep in mind allot of great players play trials allot, which skews those numbers. If you have a positive kd playing trials mainly, but not necessarily in an Elite group, your cr and kd won't show how good you are. When I play against a really good player I will look up there stats and that's what I find. Equal kd but lower cr, despite kicking my butt more often then I beat them.
