Sbmm should not be a thing, matchmaking should only look for the best connection possible and nothing else period. No game is fun with lag. If you're playing a online pvp game you're gonna run into people who will stomp you into the ground it's inevitable. If you don't like being stomped you have very few options. 1. Get better, which happens much faster if you face better players. 2. Stick to pve, which kinda cuts the game in half so I can understand a little how that's not very likely. 3. Play offline games so you can worry about getting stomped by ai. If you play a online pvp game, expect to face people who are way better than you. Bungie shouldn't have to cater to you because you bought this game knowing that. My kd is not the best but it's not the worst either. I won't complain if I get matched with a top 10 player because I signed up for that when I bought the game. I don't play toO so don't bother commenting on that.

  • Improvement does come from facing better opposition opponents, yes, but only if those opponents are slightly better than you. Getting stomped is not going to help you improve, it's going to make you tired of PvP. SBMM is a thing so that people don't get crushed by, or crush other teams, and it is perfectly fair to go into the Crucible expecting a relatively fair match. If anything, a skill tier system should be in place, so that connection can be prioritised within the respective tiers, leading to more evenly balanced matches, but without sacrificing connection.

  • What you just said is impossible in destiny right now. You can't have a good connection game and specific skill gap game consistently. It just can't happen. I disagree with you on the how you get better part. If that was the case new players would never be good. All of us started out terrible.

  • Connection based matchmaking within a skill tier can't be introduced now, but it would work in Destiny 2. You'd play a certain number of matches, and, based on individual performance, and other stats (i.e. objective time), you'd be placed in a tier. As for how one improves, I'm going off of my personal experience, yours may be different.

  • Ok I understand. As of now what you suggest just can't happen. That's all I'm saying. If we had a ranked Playlist with cbmm than yes, but we don't. So basically what I'm saying if the game doesn't have a ranked Playlist then sbmm shouldn't be a thing. It should only look for the best connection possible with random players of all skill levels.

  • Alright, that's a fair enough point.

  • If you can't debunk anything I said, why even bother replying?
