Bands such as Red, Disciple Skillet, Fireflight, etc. Do you not like them because some of their members are religious and most of their songs have a religious meaning? Do you care less about what they believe, and are just into the music? Or because you're just not interested in their music or never heard of them before?
Just for the sake of curiousity.
Also, are their some Chrsitans who don't like Christian rock bands? If so, why?
I'm simply passionately curious

Bonus question: What are your favorite songs by Christian bands?
Im more agnostic than an atheist but i was recently shown some Christian rock bands and one in which ive listened to since school and never knew was one and to be honest, with a more religious feeling behind their songs i seem to enjoy them a lot more... if that makes sense? I've got decyfer down playing in the background now. I don't see how the band being religious should effect what you get out of listening to the songs.

Does not being religious count? Because I couldn't give 2 shìts
-
Skillet is alright
-
Instrumentally: extremely generic and bland Lyrically: don't like it, cheesy and since I'm not a Christian anymore it holds no meaning to me
-
Music is music. I either dig it or don't. It has nothing to do with the performers or what they "believe" If music moves you then rock on man. Gospel, Classical, House, Trance, Metal.. whatever.

3 RepliesFor the most part, I do not like Christian bands, but I am Christian...

I'm agnostic, and I don't see a problem with a band's beliefs. I also don't see a problem with religious lyrics as long as it has deeper meaning and is good music.

16 RepliesHow do Christians feel about Atheist rock bands?

1 ReplyAthiest don't have a problem with religious people for the most part. We just want to be left alone with our own philosophies on the world

I'm an Atheist Most of my family is religious. I don't like religious music at all, but I wont complain about it if it's on.

I still enjoy Christian bands, so long as they aren't singing about God or Jesus all the time. A lot of their music is basically just about love and other things, so it doesn't bother me at all. Hell, I bet most people don't know a lot of the rock/metal they listen to is Christian. Went to a "sing the prayer" metal show, and it was incredible. All Christian bands. Religion doesn't bother me so long as people aren't yelling in my face about Jesus or waking me up at 8 in the morning pounding on my door to ask me questions about God and Jesus.

P. O. D. Is my favorite.

They're real -blam!-ing annoying but I don't complain unless asked

3 RepliesI enjoy some of Red and Skillet. Sometimes you can find your own meaning in lyrics that is different than the one that drove their writing. Other times a song just works I enjoy Red's Innocence and Instinct album. I only dislike ones that bash you over the head with Christianity.
Pretty sure a guy standing in front of you yelling in your face he is Christian would piss you off too.
I don't really care what their beliefs are. Skillet and Red are some of my favorite bands of my childhood, and I think I'll always like them.

3 RepliesAtheists get triggered by a lot of things, so it wouldn't surprise me.

As long as it doesn't sound like I'm listening to a brain washed human that's soul has been harvested, leaving an empty shell of it's former self to say random cult like sentences, I don't mind at all. I've heard some very cool music created by christians, and then I've heard music that sounds quite frightening. In a very weird...abnormal manner... "God iiiiiisssss goooood" X10
I mean it's the same for the opposite bands too. If they scream hail satan over and over..I mean...really?..
Like seriously. Idk what song, who made it, or what..but.. it was just...are you serious? Flyleaf is religious right? That one song...idk what it's called, but it's very well known. I can feel you all around me? That's a really dope song that I like. It sounds like real, from the heart music, while the other song mentioned has no soul or heart in it. Just a creepy...man idk what to even call it. Despite my feelings towards this religious subject..or...perspective I should say, I do really like that flyleaf song for example. I wouldn't call myself an atheist though...idk what I'd call myself. My friends call me Peter though. ::shrugg:: Sometimes labels aren't necessary.
