This is the worst anti-consumer practice I've seen in quite some time.
Do not support this practice. Do not support this company's decisions.
Spending money only reinforces the idea that they can -blam!- over the fans and not face any repercussions.
Most threads about this topic on their forums are locked within a few hours(hence why I'm posting here). This just shows that they realize the fans hate this, but will do it regardless, because -blam!- you.

I don't see why they don't make a balance between them. Pay for all skins, unlock characters through level/achievements. I think this will be the next step and the best of all worlds. Realistically, it's better to have no cosmetics and free content than no content and unlimited cosmetics

7 RepliesI just find it amazing how people have consistently voiced in the majority that they don't mind microtransactions as long as they're cosmetic, and now people are bitching about cosmetic microtransactions (outside of gears included.) I get that the UIR is marked up, but the point is that they expect there to be more desire for them over a holiday special. What confuses me is how upset people get over optional purchases. If their sales plummet on expensive add-one then they will evaluate why they did so poorly and likely drop the price for the next time.

Former professor of mine said he went to a weekend long gaming industry conference a few years ago hoping to meet some fellas that write code, because that's his bag too. Guy told me he could only find Hollywood people basically trying to change the culture into what it's becoming. They actually view those of us that remember buying whooooole games as the enemy. The sooner "old" people butt out, the sooner they can wring everything out of the young ones' kids. Pessimistic thoughts with grrrund yay!

Seems all the great series are doing this lately. Time for some new devs and series to come out and put all these shitty companies out of business.

Gears is dead. It's been dead for ages, they're just beating a dead horse. They already killed it peacefully with Gears 3, then took a shit on it with Judgement, and now they're beating it with its own limbs.

9 RepliesI wish together gamers could unite and try fighting back against the bullshit that is micro transactions. Too many of them don't care though and will eat this shit up. I hardly like the idea of dlc tbh, let alone season passes. Season passes shouldn't make your game cost double. Dlc shouldn't add tiny amount of content that could of been released at launch. Dead rising 4 is apparently releasing a dlc later with that overtime mode (which was in the first game.) Whatever it's called been a while. Micro transactions should be done away with, dlc's should be content full and fairly priced, and season passes shouldn't exist. I'd be down to protest this kinda crap if this crap could get any actual movement.
