Help Raising Light Level
Hello,
If anyone could help I'd appreciate it. I didn't boost my character to max level. I do not have the top gear for doing higher level content. I can't even do rise of iron content yet because my light level is too low. However, I've done all I can to acquire better gear and literally nothing is dropping. It's been days. I just did about ten strikes in a row and got NOTHING useful. Meanwhile my friend who was doing everything I was doing managed to raise his light by 6 levels. I'm not understanding this. My luck cannot be THAT bad. I paid for this new Rise of Iron content and I intend to experience it, but the game itself seems intent on preventing that from happening. I can't do heroic strikes but everywhere I look on the internet keeps saying you gotta do heroic strikes to get better gear. I don't know what more I can do. If someone could help me out here, I'd appreciate it.

1 ReplyYou need to replace your ghost shell and artifact. Those two pieces are dragging your overall light way down. Drops are all based on your overall light. They will generally be from equal to to a few points above your overall. Not the light of the corresponding piece. By having ghost and artifact that low, it's dragging your average overall way down which in turn reduces the chances of getting anything better in your other slots. The next thing you should be buying for marks is a legendary ghost in the tower. That will help. An artifact can either come from any blue engram randomly or you can go screw around in the court of oryx to get one. Ghosts can also drop from the court. Any blue engrams will decrypt based on your light up until 365 where they cap. You will be able to do the RoI content well before then which will help. After you do the RoI story, Tyra will give you a quest for an easy 350 artifact which are the best in the game for perks. Once you get your ghost and artifact on par with the rest of your gear, you can go through the story and then should focus on strikes up to at least 365. Be sure to equip any gear you get that is an upgrade in light regardless of perks. You can get a good legendary set with perks you like when you are higher but infusing those over and over is a huge waste of materials.
