Put Icebreaker Into The Loot Table Instead
From the polls and posts going around, it seems Icebreaker only has a 2-3% drop rate from the bounties. That's extremely low. Even lower than Thorn. Except with Thorn, you had about 12 chances a week to get it across all three characters. The Icebreaker only has 3 for 3 characters.
Only one person on my friends list so far has it. The other 7 of us are 0-6. Why does the drop rate have to be so low?
EDIT: This is my biggest post ever. Thank you for those who gave an opinion and gave a reason. I've been trying to respond as best as I can.
EDIT: To clarify, I'm not annoyed that it's hard to get. I'm annoyed they based it off a ridiculous RNG method instead of a quest. Note that I don't want a easy quest. Maybe something hard to do like Outbreak Prime. Reintroducing a gun by giving limited opportunities and low percentages so people come back every week is a terrible strategy.
I have played since the beta and I know what grinding was like. It was fun as hell. But you can't grind for Icebreaker. You get one chance a week per character and after that there's no way for you to get it. It's all just to make people come back every week.

2 RepliesIn my opinion it should be tied to the end of a random strike as a Yellow Engram. Kill the Boss and there it is. I don't care if the drop rate was 1% chance of it dropping. At least you could grind for it if you want too. You could even still keep it dropping from the Nightfall Bounty but at least include a chance for it to drop from a strike. Personally I'd happily grind an hour or two a day for it rather than the hour a week I play at the moment doing 3 Nightfalls TL:DR make it drop from strikes at a 1%chance.

2 RepliesThis game was built on grinding and RNG and it's better when it is. If it was a quest you just do the quest and you get the gun. No real satisfaction. But grind 3 nightfalls every week for 2 months and then finally get the ice breaker to drop ! That feels rewarding. people stop playing this game because it's to easy now doesn't keep you around. Just hand loot out like candy because people cry about drop rates

6 RepliesIMO getting the Outbreak prime is a bit ridiculous. You should at least be able to keep the monitors you already had and pick up where you left off. I still don't have it cause people keep bailing on the raid before its done. But yea, I do like being able to hunt for and get parts to complete and exotic bounty. However, it should be able to be acquired by everyone. For example, some people just plain suck in crucible. Thus they can never get that exotic. Otherwise, it creates the haves and have nots... and sometimes that means you are included or left out.

1 ReplyI'm 0-6 too but it will come eventually. But it would have been nice to have an excuse to raid or run strikes with 3oc. At the moment the mentality is do three nightfalls on a Tuesday...wait till next Tuesday.

I've only just started the dawning and just read about the bounties to get it. I've already played enough of this game, I don't want to grind randomly for an icebreaker as well. Will try out the new strikes and a bit of SRL and then I'm out. The game isn't new or exciting enough anymore to want to grind out random Bounties anymore.

1 ReplyI got 3 icebreakers from RNG in the first year. One from the first week in fact. So when year 2 rolls around, I ask bungie, "where is my gun?" And they answer with: behind a RNG wall and a Timewall that lasts 15 months. Stuff like this is why people quit games bungie.
