Around a week ago I posted part 1 of my new DLC idea based on the Vex, the Vault of Glass, the Ahamkara and the Hive, which I’d recommend checking out if you haven’t already. However, if you haven’t read part 1 yet, here’s a brief summary of what’s happened thus far:
The Vanguard received a distress signal from the Cult of Osiris on Mercury, where we passed through a Vex portal and found ourselves in a previously unexplored part of the Vault of Glass. There, we discover Praedyth, who has been stranded in the Vex network after his physical body was destroyed in the Vault. We then rescue Praedyth and unlock the "new" social space, the Lighthouse, and Praedyth sends us on a quest to battle the Vex and their overlord, Atheon himself. On Venus, the Exo Stranger reveals her true identity as Maya Sundaresh, a scientist who used to work for the Ishtar Collective. In the final mission of the campaign, we travel to the Vault of Glass and confront Atheon. He pulls us into a future in which the Tower has fallen and the Last City has been reduced to a mobile fleet wandering through space. We then fight and defeat Atheon in the ruins of the City. Having completed the campaign, we unlock the remade version of the Vault of Glass Raid. There are two new exotic quests linked to the Vault of Glass, the quest that rewards you with the Year 3 Vex Mythoclast, and the quest that rewards you with the new solar exotic sword.
The campaign in which we fight the Vex is called Praedyth’s Revenge, which is also the name of the new expansion. The second campaign is called The Ahamkara Live. Please don’t hate on this idea although I’m fine with critique. Warning: This is an extra-long read.
We unlock the second campaign by the completing the first one. Once we have completed the Praedyth’s Revenge campaign, Praedyth rewards us with a Lighthouse key. There is a hidden door in the Lighthouse which requires this key to open. The door leads to an open-top room where we meet Brother Jory, an ancient Warlock who survived the Collapse and was present during the Great Ahamkara Hunt. We are then presented with a cutscene in which Jory tells us about the Great Ahamkara Hunt.
Once the cutscene is over, Brother Jory sends us to Europa to fight a group of fanatical Hive called the Cult of Nokris (I’m sorry if you don’t want there to be more Hive since we had two Hive DLCs, although lore-wise it makes sense). Anyhow, the Cult of Nokris look like normal Hive but they adorn their armour with Ahamkara bones. In the first mission, we encounter the Cult for the first time. In the second mission, we return to Europa to face the Cult’s leader - Nokris, the Exiled Prince.
Nokris is the exiled son of Oryx. He was exiled because, like Alak-Hul, he attempted to overthrow his father. He was imprisoned on the moon of Europa and his name was wiped from history, which is why he is not in the World’s Grave or Books of Sorrow. Anyway, back to the story. In the second mission, we find an Ahamkara fang lying on Europa’s surface, and Brother Jory realizes the Ahamkara are not yet extinct and have been hiding on Europa for centuries. We then interrupt a Hive ritual and stop the Hive from summoning Yul, the Honest Worm (in this expansion, it’s revealed that the Worm Gods are basically evil, Darkness-infused Ahamkara).
The new location on Europa is Nokris’s fortress, which is similar to the Dreadnought but it's much, much bigger.
In the next few missions, we travel to Europa to try and stop Nokris from summoning Yul; in one mission, we head to the Dreadnought to try and stop Nokris from stealing the Tablets of Ruin, although he succeeds and gains the ability to “take” his enemies, just like Oryx. We then detect a strange signal on Europa and head there to investigate. In the next mission, we discover Taox frozen in stasis in one of Nokris's prisons. She tells us Nokris is invulnerable until we destroy these relics that are infused with his power. Think of it like Voldemort and his Horcruxes. Taox says the Ahamkara Nyx can help us defeat the Worms, before we are attacked by the Cult of Nokris and she sacrifices herself to ensure our survival.
In the next mission, we head to a cave deep below Europa's surface, where we meet the Ahamkara Nyx. He says very few original Ahamkara remain, and that Europa is under the influence of Nokris and the Worm Gods. However, he tells us about a relic infused with Nokris's power - the Realm Crystal, which can be found in Nokris's Fortress on Europa.
So, we do several missions in which we destroy these relics that are infused with Nokris's power, including the Blade of Akka and the Heart of Xol. In the final mission, we enter Nokris’s fortress and defeat the Exiled Prince, forcing him to flee back to his Ascendant Realm, just like Crota and Oryx did.
Having completed the campaign, we unlock the remade version of the Crota’s End Raid, which is exactly the same as normal Crota’s End, but all the enemies are Level 42; all of the Hive in the Raid have been replaced by Hive in the Cult of Nokris; and the final boss is a Fanatic of Crota who looks identical to Crota but his armour is adorned with Ahamkara bones. The bridge part has also been fixed so it can no longer be cheesed. When we complete the Ahamkara Live campaign, Eris Morn gives us the quest The Road to Crota's End and says the Cult of Nokris have invaded the Hellmouth and a Fanatic of Crota is currently blighting the Oversoul Throne. She then orders us to kill the Fanatic of Crota and his minions in the remade Crota's End Raid.
The loot table from the remade Crota’s End is exactly the same as the loot table from the original Crota’s End, meaning we now have Year 3 versions of the Word of Crota, Black Hammer, Oversoul Edict and all the classic Crota’s End weapons. There is also an exotic quest linked to the remade Crota’s End which rewards you with the Year 3 Nechrocasm. All the Year 3 VoG and Crota’s End primaries except the Vex Mythoclast and Nechrocasm cause kinetic damage, however the Praedyth’s Revenge expansion comes with elemental cores which you can buy from either Xur or the Gunsmith. Elemental cores infuse a certain element to any Year 2/3 legendary primary of your choice. Elemental cores only work on Year 2/3 legendary primaries.
There is also a second exotic sword quest in the Praedyth’s Revenge expansion that rewards you with the new arc exotic sword, which is based on the Ahamkara and is covered in bones.
The new Raid is set on Europa. Here are my ideas for the new Raid:
The bosses in this Raid include Nokris, the Exiled Prince; Yul, the Honest Worm; the other Worm Gods, except Akka (who is dead), and Xol (who is a Strike boss); and a huge Hive warbeast who looks a bit like Golgoroth or Malok.
The loot table from the new Europa Raid includes weapons and armour adorned with Ahamkara bones.
The new Raid exotic is a hand cannon in the mid rate of fire archetype that causes solar damage.
New Public Events:
There is also a new public event like Court of Oryx or Archon’s Forge, which is set in Nokris’s fortress. To access this public event, you need to head to Nokris's fortress on Patrol mode and enter the dungeons. There you can open up various prison cells using Hive keys, which you can get from doing the Europa Raid, and by completing bounties and patrol missions. Basically, in the public event you fight Nokris’s Hive generals, as well as Ahamkara. Bosses in this new public event include the Shade of Savuthan, the Shade of Xivu Arath (for those of you who don’t know, Savuthan and Xivu Arath are Oryx’s sisters), the Taken version of Alak-Hul: Nazuk, Blade of Hunger, the Taken version of the Warpriest, and the Taken version of Golgoroth
Additional Details:
The touch of malice now causes void damage.
The black hammer has similar stats to the black spindle but slightly less range and impact - that way the black spindle is slightly better than the black hammer and is thus still worth the exotic slot.
There are two new ornaments for the Vex Mythoclast - one which makes it all SIVA-fied (like the WoTM Raid weapons) and another which makes it have flames on it (a bit like Zen Meteor when its exotic perk is active). The two new ornaments for Nechrocasm are one that makes it look all Taken-fied (like the Stolen Will shotgun), and one that makes it have Ahamkara bones all over it.
The VoG challenges are as follows:
Templar - Defeat the Templar without him teleporting once.
Gorgons - Defeat at least two Gorgons in the Gorgons' Labyrinth.
Atheon - Defeat Atheon without a member of your fireteam holding the Relic more than twice.
New Strikes:
The first new Strike is set on Europa - you have been sent to kill a powerful Ahamkara who is nestling deep below Nokris’s fortress. Brother Jory believes the mysterious Ahamkara may also be one of the Worm Gods, just like Yul. The Strike is pretty simple: head to Europa, enter Nokris's fortress, do some basic Strike mechanics, and then defeat the final boss, the Worm God Xol.
The second Strike is set on Venus and is called the Perfected Mind – in the Strike you must stop the Devil Splicers from entering the Vault of Glass and re-animating the Templar with SIVA. The final boss of the Strike is the Perfected Mind - a powerful Vex Hydra who is basically a SIVA version of the Templar.
The third Strike is set on Phobos, a moon of Mars. A Cabal general has been sent to our system to gather intelligence for the Empire, and we need to kill it in this new strike. When we complete the Strike, Ghost deciphers a message from the Cabal Emperor himself, who is planning an attack on humanity – this is a direct reference to Destiny 2, which will presumably be about the Cabal.
So, that’s Part 2 of my new DLC idea. Leave any queries down below. :)
