Wtf is this? Sidearms. Always sidearms bro. Most sniper rifles don't carry enough ammo to be overly useful outside of boss fights, and even in those they're outperformed by rocket launchers, swords, or sleeper simulant. Shotguns generally don't have enough range to stay out of the danger zone on tougher enemies or bosses, and have limited magazines and fire rate that makes them a liability against swarms of melee attackers. Fusion rifles used to be the go to, having more range than shotguns without sacrificing too much impact, and have more ammo capacity than snipers, but personally I never liked them much. Sidearms have the fire rate and magazine size to deal with hordes of enemies, the range to stay at a safe distance from bosses, and the impact to still pull off respectable damage on tougher enemies.
