UPDATE: it was my trigger stop on my elite controller. Turned it off and all is working great now (except for an obvious bug).
I'm noticing that after the gate boost wears off, my sparrow settles at around 110-112. I've watched several youtubers who claim to never lose a race and I noticed their sparrows settle at around 130+ after a boost wears off. My wife settles at around 95.
Can anyone explain this? In each case, the sparrow being used is a 160/40 (standard legendary sparrow). I understand driving makes a difference, but if your top speed is limited and other folks can run a minimum of 20 or more faster than you for the entire race, I'd like to know how to get those speeds myself, or at least understand how it works.
The wife hasn't come in above 6th in any race and normally doesn't even finish. I'd like the game type to be playable for her...
Thx
UPDATE: it was my trigger stop on my elite controller. Fixed and working great now.

If you play forza you will have the same problem with the trigger lock. Just FYI make sure they are off after crucible

1 ReplyTip: equip Clever Dragon before race starts = automatic 1st place.

A small tip of advice for racing Year 1 models are good for being difficult to getting bumped on, but it's difficult to bump with And the new year 2 models are good at bumping into other people, but you can be bumped as well, although I have seen people getting caught on the front part of the sparrow

My sparrow maxes out at about 135 while I'm driving, but if I just drive between boosts and let the effect wear off WITHOUT hitting or bumping into anything, I max out at about 145.

Is the refer a friend sparrow faster than normal sparrows? I think I was in a race and it had around a 140 top speed.

1 ReplyThe red bull sparrow is fast af

13 RepliesIt doesn't matter if you run a 150 speed or 160 speed all those sparrows are normalized top speeds, you just can't miss gates or your coasting speed is lessend
-
8 RepliesI posted last year about how the next SRL should remove the gates and add varying stats on sparrows (top speed, acceleration, braking, handling etc), making your path less forced and allowing racers to use sparrows that fit their driving style.

Ya man, after getting a scuf with adjustable trigger stops, ive noticed that different games and ever within destiny, theres different trigger pull lengths. I originally set my triggers for optimal primary firing...switched to my sniper...couldnt fire it. Adjusted it to work for all weapon types. Then went and played BF1...still too short of a trigger pull for using the sniper class.

Use a lever to accelerate.. I changed mine to do that and I don't get the drop off while still keeping the trigger stop. You would think a controller made by the company, would not do this...but no....

I believe coasting speed on Srl tracks has to do with how many consecutive gates you've previously hit before you go into standard (non gate-boosted) race speeds. You'll notice that as you chain gates, your coast speed seems to increase up to about 130 or so, but as soon as you miss a gate, it drops down a notch or ten. Miss several gates in a row, and you just start dragging along painfully slow compared to others, and then you need to chain a few more successful gates together to get back up to the same relative speed as the others.

8 RepliesAlso change your trigger settings to be "completely pressed" at around 70% fixed my friends issue for him.

1 ReplyI have the Prismatica rainbow one. It settles at 130. You lose speed if you miss a gate tho.

Just a tip if you are using an elite controller. Map your paddles to the left and right bumpers. I use the two lower larger paddles, and it makes it so much easier to side boost.

BTW, that's not a bug like you wrote in your edit. It's how all video game vehicles work.

For the longest time my Sparrows were slower than my friends. I bought a new controller and now keep up just fine. Apparently my button was not pushing down all the way. Probably from all the falls.

3 RepliesWhat is the trigger stop on the elite controller? And how would I check mine? Sorry, I just hate reading instructions. Thanks.

Edited by KSI MySTiiQuE: 12/19/2016 4:00:49 PMIt's your controller. You don't have a standard controller right? Just read your edit sorry haha.

You will loose speed from missing gates. In SRL, you need to hit those gates.

6 RepliesYou need to hit gates consecutively, Not sure on the numbers exactly as I normally hit them all. At max speed with a 160 speed sparrow your speed should settle at 130. Miss one gate and it'll drop down to 115. Miss two gates and you'll drop down to 100. Miss three gates and you drop down to 85 I believe. Hitting a gate raises you up a speed level 85 to 100 or 115 to 130 ect That's pretty much the basics of it anyway
