We all know that the Sol Progeny is the three minotaurs protecting the Black Heart in the Black Garden. But why is there a taken one named the same thing as their group? While I was doing the Cerebus Vae III strike, some taken attacked me. After finishing a wave or two, a boss spawned. And guess what is name was... That is how Destiny messes up lore.

4 RepliesThe Sol Progeny are a class of those large minotaurs. Sol Progeny means offspring of the sun. You can see the real names of the ones you kill in the black garden if you look at them.

I call him "Eric" He's quite friendly once you get to know him

It's just lazy Bungie design. As someone who has studied the Sol Progeny extensively, I can say with good degree of certainty that the Taken Minotaur is a product of lazy renaming. Not only that, but Cerebus Vae III is only canon the very first time it's run, and any repeated runs or variations are not canon.

4 RepliesProgeny means offspring. Sol is probably some Vex leader or group. There are definitely more Sol progenies than the three we faced in the garden.

2 RepliesThere not all called that from the blck garden. Havent done the mission in forever so i dont remember there names. One i believe is called primevil or somethimg like that.

1 ReplyThe Sol Progeny might not just be the 3 from the black garden, they're a collection of the greatest and most powerful minotaurs. Isn't there another taken sol progeny in the alternative ending to the paradox mission?

Oryx took that bitch from the black garden

11 RepliesBecause Bungie was lazy. It is just a Taken Gate Lord but either someone in the studio -blam!-ed it up or they were just too lazy to change it.

2 RepliesIt could possibly be the embodiment of all 3 in one
