Two weeks have passed since Vesrik and Zatkis had left 6 Demeter and Hedon House, and the Prime Servitor was almost done. My part was over, Zatkis just needed to give his own modifications to give Teriks a shield, and give him an arsenal to deliver suppressing fire to any type of enemy, especially Guardians. The shields will be generated by tapping into transformers built below the Scar stronghold, made long ago for emergency power. Now their purpose will be to protect the Prime. The weaponry will comprise of the usual servitor blast, and missiles taken from many cabal Colossi. Another will be from the design of a scorch cannon; it will either charge up with a super powerful blast to take down larger enemies, or act like a rocket launcher for overwhelming fire. I went down to Prime Maintenance, a station made specifically for modifying and maintaining Teriks Prime. There were many stations to modify and repair servitors and ether runners, but only one station for a Prime. I saw Zatkis giving the finishing touches, and it was beautiful. The shield energy tappers would have no problem retrieving energy from the transformers. The attachments to the Prime fit perfectly, even the Cabal missiles, which our launchers were made different to fit the design of them. The scorch cannon modified onto the servitor was bigger than a normal scorch, and was given a larger solar furnace. The rods of solar energy would be far more lethal, and a charged blast would kill or destroy anything in it's path. Zatkis told me, "Later we will need to give the Prime's Hall armor to withstand the blasts of that scorch; they will also need to be fireproof. I know how to do it, but the modification would take a month." I thought for a second and said, "If the stronghold is breached, I will move Teriks Prime. There is a group of humans in the jungles of Venus, and use their light in more ways than one. They will build a fortress for Teriks Prime, and that is where he will remain. I will tell them the modifications I need to it, and they will do it for a price." Zatkis took note of this, but still something was on his mind. "I know that I never need payment from you, uncle, but there is something that you need to do for me." I looked at him curiously, and said, "What do you need, Zatkis?" Zatkis replied, "I want you to go to the Moon. I want you to spy on my father." I wasn't sure what to say. "Zatkis, you know I cannot board that Ketch. He would try to kill me, and I would have to fight him." "You don't need to. Variks is your friend, yes? Tell him to send the Crows to watch over Taniks' Ketch, and send Variks information, that he will send to you." Zatkis had thought this through, clearly. "Taniks will die soon to Seren's people. I must know when this happens, so I can put this to rest." I growled at him, and said, "Fine. The Crows will not board the Ketch, though. They will simply have drones monitor comm channels. Do not worry, we will know when they kill him." A satisfied Zatkis cackled, and said thankfully, "I appreciate this, Vesrik! I'll continue working on the Prime." All of a sudden, I was retrieving a distress call, on all channels. It was coming from Earth, centered in old Seattle. "Are you picking that up Zatkis? That distress call?" Zatkis replied, "Yeah, it's blowing up the frequencies. How can signal from Earth get all the way out here?" He was right, it was very strong. I told him, "I do not know, but I'm going to check that out. I'll be back in a few days. What could possibly be transmitting that signal?" "I do not know, but I believe it is worth checking out, so take as much time as you need. I'll stay here and guard the stronghold." It was strange. I couldn't decipher the signal this far out. I will find out when I get closer. Honestly, I have nothing better to do, and the signal sounds urgent. Could it be transmitted from a Ketch, or could it be a Guardian signal? Either way, I will try to get there first. The Devils will be there in a second, but the cost will be the heads on their shoulders. Or worse, the Hive will pick the remains, piece by piece. Even worse than that, the dead soldiers will come, eating whatever hope is left for whoever is sending the call. But again, it all depends on who sent the signal. It could be eliksni, it could be human, or something completely different. Either way, whatever is there, I will get to it. If someone else gets to it first, there is no mercy for them.
