I would like to be good at Sparrow racing butt I'm not. Oh well Destiny isn't a racing game. It's a fun event. But congratulations you are a sparrow racing master. You made it abundantly clear how awesome you are.

Now this is can agree with. When you have 6 people of speed bikes trying to get through a small gate guess what is going to happen?? If you don't like it, wait at the back. Trust me the scramble to get through the gates usually benefits the patient one and there are plenty of opportunities to pass everyone.

My issue with this last SRL wasn't simply because I was being bumped, it was because of the inconsistency of what happens when you bump/get bumped. it's another level of RNG of when 2 sparrows touch for which one is going to hold it's ground & which one is going to be careening off the track no matter how hard/soft said touch was. If it had some sort of physics engine that made those function properly I wouldn't have minded as much, but getting love tapped & launched off the course got old quickly. Especially when I bump someone and they hold their ground & send me flying when that exact same thing happened last match & it sent me off the track.

Exactly. Full-contact racing is where it's at anyways. Advice for those not having fun. Finish your book and call it a day. I took me 35 races to complete my book and get my license. Good riddance SRL. It got boring after about the 10th race.

8 Repliesits not the bumping that pisses people off, its the randomness in the hit detection.. sometimes you move to hit a guy and you are the one that careens off track, other times you seem to move under, over or even through them.. explode out of now where etc.. as with everything destiny.. the p2p networking is likely to blame as players racing are not exactly where you think they are on the screen.. which just turns people off.. it could be a lot of fun if the mechanics actually worked right.

16 RepliesThat was helpful.....not? People are complaining because this game doesn't reward players for skillful control of their vehicle like other racing games. In auto racing games, if you try bump me you're going to find it very difficult to knock me off line. Which forces you to pick your time when you try to pass carefully.

2 RepliesI know this won't appeal to the competitive set but every now and then I just stop caring about winning, hang back and take the course at my leisure without the herd jostling me around. It's relaxing. Sure, I'll get in the mix most of the time and wrestle with five other sparrows but come on, statistically you have a better chance at rewards if you're not trying to be in first and it'll be less stressful too. It's the truth.

The bumping can kinda get annoying when the gates are very small, but the thing I'll complain the most about is how the sparrow breaks all laws of physics. When you jump of a ledge and land your sparrow flips out of control once and a while, or when you crash into something in mid-air and you fall down like a feather. Sparrows physics are broken. ( Ps: When you die in the game, respawning takes a long time.)

It's the inconsistency of the bumps. In other games you aren't bumped as randomly off course as in SRL. You don't know where you're going to fly off to. In other racers you can at least get yourself back on track quickly. They've had a year to fix the wonky Sparrow physics yet they took the easy route and kept them the same, and instead implemented a microtransaction kiosk. That time could've better been spent making quality of life improvements to SRL.

3 RepliesMy issues is how the physics work with it. Other racing games your vehicle is a solid structure, while in srl one of your fins or something could get lodged in your competitors sparrow and it just messes it up. It doesn't work as well as it does in other racers. It also doesn't help that you can immediately boost to the left or right, further pushing whoever you're bumping into, which makes it worse.
