The speed at which this country pumps out weapons that are by far more destructive then yesterdays weapons is amazing.
I have been interested in this type of a career since I was a kid, Does anyone on this forum with prier experience in the military have any knowledge on how I would pursue a career in military R&D? I've gone to several recruiters offices and have never been able to get the information I was looking for.
Is anyone else as interested in this field as I am?

How nice, made in my home state
Posted by: CptMippleFinger
Posted by: iMonochromatic It says in the article about the Dragon's Breath that it couldn't be used in semi-auto shotguns because of its low power and inability to cycle through the rounds becaue of lack of energy, let alone be used in a 300 round per minute full-auto shotgun.
As i stated before I was using it as an example of new tech being developed. That type of pressure would also toss objects and damamge walls and that rublle of damaged walls would be sent flying as well, the only major difference would be no flash. The AA-12 could possibly take over as one of the military's most used CQC weapons, Its got decent range, and extreme destructive power. Imagine how awesome it would be if you could say you where the one who designed that weapon? or if you could say you where the one who designed a bomb that would eliminate unwanted casualty's? For instance there is a type of anti infantry bombs being used right now that instead of killing its targets with high explosives and shrapnel it changes the air pressure so drastically that it will send all the targets in a building from Standing still to 160 MPH in less then two seconds. Basically what your doing is saving lives that didn't need to be taken by accident. I don't know if its just me, but that sounds like a pretty fulfilling profession.

Posted by: CptMippleFinger Shadowman The flamethrower was banned after WW2 because it was deemed to brutal.
And that goddamn Dragon Breath isn't?
-
Lol yeah it'd be cool to see that in MW2 and Shadowman The flamethrower was banned after WW2 because it was deemed to brutal. The DB round could also be used to blind someone for a short period of time just like a flash bang, which could have some advantages. Small things like this can eventually lead to huge breakthroughs which can simultaneously save lives while taking them which is the downside. Its hard to have peace without war.. and yeah that's definitely something I'd try and avoid being hit by lol [Edited on 05.24.2010 5:35 PM PDT]

That would be on my top 10 list of worst thing to get shot by.

*sigh* If only the DragonBreath was in MW2 Oh the possiblities >XD

Yeah, it said that the Dragon round still burnt for a few minutes after being fired, I was merely using it as an example of the type of things people invent on a daily basis, Gauss technology has dramatically increased as well, I remember reading an article about a newly developed rail gun that can put 1000 bullets withing half an inch of each other and fire them all simultaneously, Pretty incredible stuff if you ask me, I just need to find what type of courses in college that would benefit me most for this type of field

I don't think those two things would work together, considering the Dragon Breath doesn't have enough power to cycle the next round (according to the article).

The shell would be ejected while still burning. Bad idea.
