Will we have to pay to get a full dawning armor set?
This new post by bungie shows a bunch of really cool armor and sparrows and then it says 6 horrible words. See more at the eververse store. Bungie if this is like festival of the money again and we cant earn the cool armor sets without sepnding money. You may very well nail the last nail in the coffin considering I have (And many others) have spent 170$ just for normal gameplay and you expect us to pay more? Please dont do this to your loyal fans.
*Edit 1* Over 80 replies. Whatever your opinion is I want to hear what bungie has to say about this. Let us hear your opinion. Other games do just fine without this mass scale of microtransactions.

Every event people like you bitch and moan about this, but if the gear was free in game you'd probably complain that it's garbage. It's mainly cosmetic and I seriously doubt that anyone with a full set, or even a piece, will all of the sudden be a PVP god and invincible in Raids. If you really want the gear then pony up the money. Otherwise, go put your soapbox away, sit down and shut it

20 RepliesWell it's 3 free boxes per character per week. So that's 9 boxes if you do the heroic strike at least once per week on every character (the event is 3 weeks long). Plus the free box for reaching SRL rank 5. That's a total of 12 free boxes if you do it on all 3 characters. So not really no, it isn't behind a paywall.

Looks to be that way. And I just wanna get this off my chest too but. Don't bother trying for Saladin's gift. Its just 50 Motes and 3 DoI Ornaments. not worth it in my books, I think it should've been at least a Guaranteed exotic Engram or Weapon. Plus, it turns out anyone can get two Legendaries on SRL by just Mucking about. Honestly Bungie. Just. No

The part that bugs me is that there is a secondary armour set which is not show on any trailer and doesn't look as cool. I brought 10 bucks in sliver on Thursday and got that crap instead of the dawning stuff

Im not 100% sure but I think u can get some of that snow armor from the weekly vanguatd bounties, i got the snow arms and the new gold chest piece out of one of those weekly bounties, plus a horn. Can anyone else confirm this or did rngesus grace me with a glitch? Lol

Seriously, most people have been playing for over two years, they have dropped network updates, weapon updates, new playable areas, new weapons, new armour and other things, you are paying for what you get. People forget that Black Ops 2 charged $25+ for a few extra maps and gear that you couldn't use on the vanilla. Witcher 3 DLC with added extras is $55, but it doesn't have multiplayer, no PvP it's just you. Assassins Creed Black Flag...Well, we just won't go there. They don't expect you to buy this stuff, it is literally your own choice, they give you an ability to gain it but they do still need to make money. Do you know how long it takes to properly make the armour and weapons.

The horns are all available as SRL drops. There are two new armor sets for each class from strike bounties and SRL. The other two armor sets are available only in the packages, but you get at least 6 of them for free on one character. You might get up to 10 if you do all three characters. That's enough for a full set most likely. The ornaments will stay almost guaranteed. They'll probably be added to the ornament store after the event. If not, it's just a freaking ornament. I usually get hyped for it then realize legendary weapons are better and never use my ornamented exotic. The sparrows are mostly meh and shouldn't be the reason you're buying the packs. Did I miss anything?

6 RepliesShort answer: no you dont have to pay. Dawning Treasures can be earned after the event just like Radiant/Sterlings so you can get the whole set free over many weeks' span

I've gotten the helmet and chest piece and a new sparrow from the one you get for completing a heroic strike. So it is possible but up to RNG.
