• Of course you started out bad. Just like everybody else does when they pick up something new. But then you learned what you were doing and then natural thumb skill took over. I would hope that we can all agree that not everybody is cut out to be a top 5% player no matter how much they play. Saying "I used to be horrible and now I am a beast" tells your story, but will not be the experience of most. Most will likely top out at around average no matter how much they play.

 • Some are just naturals at things, some people who have been playing shooters since quake, and counter striker, have trouble picking up certain overwatch heroes. Ive been playing for a decade, and i picked up zarya very quickly, 3 star difficulty hero

 • I think Eric would learn more by playing other high school kids that are marginally better than him. Getting dunked on by Chris Bosch is just a slap in the face.

 • If I could do I a one on one with LeBron, I would do it in a heart beat. Most competitive players get pretty excited when they go up against a known streamer in Trials. You can pick up a lot of subtle stuff when you play good players. You learn less when you get shoes filled with lead and the enemy, who is just as skilled as you has on brand new Jordan's, which was many players experience when SBMM was prioritized.

 • It might be fun a few times, but I wouldn't want to do it every day. Moreover, I bet LeBron doesn't play for keeps against randoms. I don't get excited about playing against streamers because, a. I probably don't know who they are, b. I don't play trials. I figured out long ago that I'm not even marginally close to good enough for trials. It's a horrifying, miserable experience. I avoid it pretty much completely. You're forcing people that aren't good enough to be competitive into an arena they aren't prepared for. It's taken me a year to scratch and claw my way to from .5 to .8, and now I'm rewarded by getting kicked like an unwanted dog. Ain't that some shit?

 • Thats how i learned to play. My dad taught me how to catch a ball by pinning me against the wall, and throwing it at me until i caught it

 • Are you sure he wasn't holding back enough to make sure his throws were actually catchable by you? I'm being he didn't throw the ball as hard as he could, for personal amusement. If he did, he's an asshole.
actually, he kind of sounds like an asshole regardless
• I feel bad for you now. I don't mean that facetiously. I think what you're describing is abusive.

 • "Or drive without him taking me driving on the busy avenue in compton". He wasn't teaching you how to drive. He was teaching you how to play GTA.

 • Not really, he wants me to learn how to drive in a hostile setting to control my emotions, and understand what others road rage can cause

 • Orpheus you have to understand kids nowadays don't like losing because they are used to participation trophies for everything. Older gamers/people were used to being thrown into the fire. People crying about this were crying jin year 1 or didn't play in year 1.

 • Again here we go about the participation trophies. What a joke. Nobody wants a trophy. They just want to enjoy a video game. You guys do know this is suppose to be a game right. It's not that serious.

 • These kids don't understand to get better you have to play against better oposition and take your lickings. When I started playing shooters I sucked. Wventually by playing with and against better opposition I got way better went from a .5kd to over a 2kd in almost any game I play now.

 • What's your kd in Destiny? I can't tell because you hid your stats. Pretty unusual for a beast.
