Changes to Matchmaking Settings on 12/08/2016
Today the development team is making a few changes to Matchmaking settings with the goal of improving your experiences in the Crucible. Here is a quote straight from the team with some details about what is being changed.

To achieve this, we are expanding the available skill-range for other players earlier and more aggressively. We will also be looking for lower-latency matches for longer than before. Essentially, this puts a stronger bias on connection quality, with less emphasis on skill matching. This may result in slightly longer matchmaking times in some cases. For some of you, this could mean that you’ll be matched with opponents well outside of your skill range. We hope the tradeoff is worth it to improve the Crucible ecosystem in general.
As always, our work in designing a Crucible experience that serves all players is never finished. Be sure to let us know what you experience out there. Our forum, just like our game, is a constant source of great feedback.

17 RepliesSBMM is absolutely back. Everyone knows it Bungie. It's hard to miss, when all of a sudden the matches are laggy, and the sweat level is turned up to 11. I just don't understand why they do this? Like we as a community won't realize it? My theory is that they secretly did this to protect the incoming Christmas noobs. Just leave it alone.

1 ReplyI don't get why all the sudden I have dandruff. I've never had it ever.. Just messed my hair up and it started snowing on my iPad screen. Wtf.....ami dehydrated? My diet lacking? I haven't been exercising or eating on schedule like a machine past few months, maybe that's it.....anyone have vast knowledge of dandruff? Care to comment? Shoulders were made for greatness, not dandruff

You have to understand there's not many people are playing destiny now a days! It really doesn't matter if it is cbmm or sbmm with a decreasing player base.

1 ReplyLobbies are still bad on my end. Usually 2 people red bar per match, up to 6 the last match I just played, 4 on there team, 2 on mine. I couldn't pick up a couple of their crests. Kind of hard to play when you can't complete the objective.

I have one buddy with a 1.8 kdr. When we play we constantly play individuals from foreign countries like mexico, africa, south america. I've noticed now if I play with my anyone less skilled than myself we play pretty much only US, Canadian or English.

4 RepliesMore focus on cbmm, and the connections gets worse. How dafuq am I matching against players from Australia, japan, etc etc and im in sweden when you change matchmaking to priority on connections?? Only played people from that distance when you first secretly introduced sbmm

All I know is you guys better condense the game modes. After playing a couple today and seeing people from various continents it's pretty obvious your player base is extremely small. When you can't even make a match from people in the USA that's pretty terrible. I shouldn't have to buy a netduma just to play. The host Advantage is stronger than ever

1 ReplySBMM is back stronger than ever. Connections are back to crap. Skill is definitely priority over connection again. Sweaty, hyper-competitive matches all day and night. Not much fun to be had in crucible at the moment. And Bungie does it all in the dark hoping we will all be fooled. If they keep on jerking around their community like this and Destiny 2 is gonna bomb.

If i'm not playing people from other continents, then i'm playing against red barring Italians and Frenchies.... Usually it's both at the same time. Skill is still the most important factor in your matchmaking, not connection.

So. Four straight matches. Added late to a game with a few laggers. Best part the team is being destroyed. So then the teams are broken up. Seriously? More time in match making than playing. With a fiber connection. Yup. Thanks bungo.

I really have not hit the crucible hard since the last IB. I did play crucible a couple of weeks ago when the Shaxx weekly bounty was Supremacy. From that small sample size I would say the crucible was worse. Connections weren't any better, but I wouldn't say they were worse than before. Skill level was all over the place. I will put more time into it in the coming weeks and give honest feedback.
