Was glad to find this post. Last Monday I was playing on my hunter again so I used the official Bungie companion app to transfer my but not forgotten form my titan. And I just did not appear in my screen. I really loved that sniper from te moment It dropped. I used it for everything, like I used the ice breaker back in the first year. Was (still) sad that I couldn't find it anywhere else in my vault or inventories. At first I thought maybe if I do some archons forge again it might dorp but it didn't so would really love to get than sniper back. Hope this is enough information if it isn't please contact me!
