So the background to my idea was me checking out on the app this weeks nightfall and weekly heroic but as I kept scrolling down i see progress tracking on all the raids, something I had forgotten about really. I thought to myself... weeky go by and these older raids arent even touched. They're just there gathering dust. I figured that if each old raid was buffed up to the new light level every time the cap was increased, people may not have so much incentive to do the new content.. well besides that it's new but thats beside the point. I had an idea. I figured in addition to the way things are now, a new 3rd mode could be added to old raids, one that makes them challenging for people in the new end game, who've reached the new light level cap. Furthermore, as to not ruin the easy and hard mode of those raid or to take away incentive to do a new raid, these modes for the old raids would only unlock once the new raid has been completed on both modes (reaching the new light cap not needed). So, using the Kings Fall raid ad an example, this would be the end result: Kings Fall raid allows players to reach the new light cap 320. Rise of Iron releases along with the new raid. Players complete the raid and then eventually the hard mode as well which allows players to reach 400. Once hard mode is completed once for Wrath of the Machine, new modes unlock for ALL previous raids (which until then, following my suggestions, would have been at the Kings Fall hard mode light level). This new mode essentially is on the same difficulty as Wrath of the Machine hard mode allowing players to reach 400. This way, players can choose to play the old raids at the same challenging level as the new raid and be rewarded just as well, yet this option would only be available after clearing the new raid. I can imagine each weem being filled with more variety as all new raids now offer incentive to do them again and if players prefer the looks and perks of other raid gear then they are free to earn and use thise without their light being punished for it. I agree with this but there one slight flaw TTK raid drop infusable legendaries so there isnt a real point to make the whole raid "NEW" As u can just go back get the gear and then infuse it with gear from Siva raid or ROI drops. I agree being able to have VOG gear get past year 1 levels would be great as those armor sets where so unique very vex looking and with Crotas end and TTK armor I am very pleased it looked very much like the enemy you faced Im confliced about the new WOTM raid gear it doesnt really fit into that profile the warlocks helmet is the dummest looking helmet ive seen ever at least the titans and hunters one look sivafied, the boots chest and gloves of the lock fit the bill but the helmet doesnt. Change it
I think they should add a new difficulty tier for all the raids where the enemies are at 400 light too, called chaos or legendary (too halo I know, but they already have heroic), and have vault of glass, crota, skolas, oryx and wrath of the machine all at this difficulty, then people could get whatever raid gear set they want at 400 light or mix it all up
I think it'd be cool if vault of glass was updated to have a new boss before Atheon who controls time and forces you to fight other raid bosses like Crota and Skolas for each phase like a remix boss if you like
