I feel like this DLC, while quality for a brief moment, kind of killed the game off. It almost felt like a send off before the sequel, and maybe it was meant to be.
It's really the end game. After about 385ish, only the raid matters and after that everything you do yields nothing greater than what you already have. Sure there's pvp, trials, whatever. I guess I'm tired of that for various reasons.
I just feel as though there's even less to actually do and earn than even the April update.
*Maybe it's that it wasn't memorable, aside from the raid, which again I really like. None of the characters are worth even discussing. Even Saladfingers. He does and says nothing noteworthy. Shit Master Ives in the reef is more interesting than any character in ROI. I don't want to complain. Just sayin.

Just my point of view, but once you hit LL 400, a lot of the content becomes irrelevant. No point in playing CoE, grinding Bounties for Faction Rep, CoO or even the Normal Raid (unless you are after a certain piece) as the gear drops lower than what you already have. I used to like doing the bounties every day and seeing what got dropped at the rank up, but now I stick to PVP (which I'm no good at) just to see regular LL 400 drops. I also cannot raise the enthusiasm to do Strikes, just for the small possibility of a key drop. I guess that's what year one had over today's game. No matter what dropped, it was normally worth it.

6 RepliesBungie's "go f-ck yourself" approach to its "community" is what's killing it.
-
1 ReplyNo. It just left the game incomplete
-
1 ReplyIt didn't kill it...lack of content and virtually no large improvements did. Why not play other games were the graphics and gameplay are better? Also, I believe Bungie's lack of communication kills it as well. If you look at bungie.net main page, their timeline is all in the past. They don't communicate future plans and inside information very well. If I were the community manager/customer relations for Bungie, I would host a forum for guardians to ask questions have give real time updates/news. We should know what is planned for the beginning of next year and whatever else is coming out before D2.
-
Is this an asinine post?
the answer is yes
-
1 ReplyThey just keep repeating the same mistakes by making old content irrelevant. I couldn't imagine how much more popular this game would be if all raids, strikes, and locations provided ways to get the best loot in the game with difficulty being increased. There'd be something for everyone.
-
Unless your a hardcore fanboy your book shouldn't be complete. Go out into the real world or buy another game. You don't only have to play destiny.
-
No, Bungie hiding DLC/Event items behind RNG and a paywall killed Destiny for me. Days of Iron ornaments were a big selling point(to me) for ROI, and Bungie made them nearly impossible to get without spending more money at Eververse. I've received 3 since ROI launched. 2 from the ONE RNG treasure box, and 1 from the record book. What happened to the other 2 treasure boxes we used to get, Bungie? Raid ornaments are earnable through challenge mode, why can't we earn Days of Iron ornaments?
-
They definitely could've made it as good as TTK, but instead they just go back to adding a few story missions, 2-3 strikes, some new guns and a raid. It should've been a lot better than it is.
-
So based on what i am reading here Bungie should technically not phase out anything in this game instead of looking towards the next game in the installment. I think you should align your expectations that this may have been the last "major" update for the game unless something is dropped in April. We will still have the SRL and also maybe Valentine specials. Thay are going to divert all attention to Destiny 2. There are other games out there if the current plans are not acceptable to you but the majority of players have spoken with their actions not words.

1 ReplyEdited by SPUNKY09: 11/28/2016 2:54:57 AMDoes anyone else feel like the plague lands was made very unnecessarily big? There is huge areas that are just useless.
-
4 RepliesI don't know, but has anyone else taken a healthy break and came back, finding that the choppy frame rate gives you a literal headache? I've been playing overwatch and logged on last night.....good grief
-
Edited by Nuffy76: 11/28/2016 5:08:05 PMI'm 395 and now I only hop on to play iron banner for a day or two. No reason to get to 400 for me since I don't raid The divison has taken the spot destiny had in my ps4
-
5 RepliesIf only the Division didn't have the Dark Zone... Destiny would have that huge city on Mars. The only way I could see Bungie giving this game the push it really needs, is by reviving the old raids and the Nexus strike, and by fixing PvP.

this has been a discussion since release not enough content on any of the releases.... hell look at vog when it came out 30 took someone literally almost 2 months to get... then when he got it people doubled up on chars to get 30 as well then with the crota drop was the same content but still took like a week or 2 to get then HOW came out took not even a day to get 40 then TTK came out took what a few days to get max light then 335 ha that was a joke a few days then we are here haha 385 was max well i was at 388 when we had a 389 before the raid was dropped to make it 400 and bam 400 in a day .. bungie has made it to where everyone is handed everything ... not like it was in VoG days the vanilla took a while to get stuff.. hell i had Ghorn 2nd week of the game being out while 95% of the gamers didnt get it until xur sold it the 2nd time and then nerfed it to the ground .. there is no where near enough content for todays gamers.. its in every game... but the difference is this meta is making pvp unplayable for alot of people hell i spend like 5-10 mins looking for a game and i dont know how but i do and i get matched up with this see ss's attached RED BAR METAS!... but then u go to other games like farming sim which sold 1m copies in the first month which is big for that kind of game last copy was 500k now it doubled took me like 1 week to get literally 49M in cash i make like 200k every 60 seconds ... look at Infinite warfare.. great graphics but poorly executed ... campaign was great loved it zombies is shit .. multiplayer is broke as all hell.. battlefield same thing moderate story and multiplayer... then you have these little indie games that actually keep you attached for like 10 bucks are you kidding... i am getting more content in games from Roblox then all the other games combined... i dont know what is going on with bungie or activision but they are making shit for higher prices
-
13 RepliesNo way. Everyone who spent more than 150-200 hours playing this game will return with the sequel. Most people knew what this expansion was going to be: a rushed out stop gap, meant to hold us over until D2. If you set the bar too high, that's on you. Anyone who thinks Destiny is dead is an idiot. They raked in a literal ton of money during Festival of the Lost alone. The sequel is going to set records, and then 6 months later these posts will start popping up again, and they'll be just as wrong as they are now.
-
For an MMO like Destiny you have to have a goal, I'm all out of goals. There's no longer anything to work towards, anything to look forward to. There are other games with better pvp, and I ended my PvE career when I finished the raid.
-
Thats destiny after every dlc.
-
7 RepliesWhy don't we all just go play Skyrim...
-
Has it killed Destiny? No. Has it hurt Destiny? Yes.
-
6 RepliesAlmost everything matters in ROI. Everything can get you to 400. I haven't done the new raid 1 time, and I have three level 400 characters. Strike exclusives grant 400 gear. Iron Banner and Crucible grant 400, whether you win or not. Exotics decrypt at 400. Plus the raid. In fact, I don't really know why anyone would raid. Fun I guess, but what a pain. It's amazingly difficult to put together a team, and when you do, one blueberry can mess the whole thing up. Why put yourself through that for substandard gear?
-
15 RepliesDestiny must have 100 lives because thse forums have agreed its died about 78 times already NEWSFLASH: Games get boring after 800 days of playing them. If you are bored wait for Destiny 2 and then itll all feel fresh again
-
No, this community killed destiny.
-
1 ReplyNah, just no reason to grind out for next expansion because there isn't going to be one. If there is it will be small. Just play to play if you want to. I still play just to have fun. Wish they put some long term goals oh well.
-
I used to play only Destiny and even worked to see how I could do competitively. Eventually I got burned out. It was the same thing everytime I played. Everyone used the same thing. Pulse Rifles, shotguns and hand cannons. It just got super repetitive. So I stopped. I've been playing Skyrim mostly but I'll get on destiny every now and then with my friends. But now I just don't take it a serious. I use the guns that I haven't touched dating back in year 1 and i just good around.
-
I buy every dlc not really expecting much, I just like destiny. Playing pvp or doing bounties
