Skeleton Key Drop Rate
So today me and my friends where farming for skeleton keys, trying to get a good Imago Loop. After 3 1/2 consecutive hours of farming a mix of both Heroic and Siva Crisis strikes I came out with a whopping total of 1 skeleton key. Yep. Just 1. After 3 hours of farming that is all I got. All I am asking is for BUNGIE to consider buffing the drop rate. It is a huge disappointment, especially considering that the chest gave me another Mark...

3 RepliesIsn't the drop rate supposed to be low? Skeleton keys have essentially just replaced strike specific loot and some of that loot was a nightmare to get. I must've done around 60 to 70 Undying mind strikes before the Imago Loop dropped and around 40 Omnigul Strikes before the Grasp of Malok dropped. From watching Youtube videos on this and reading comments about it, I think in general, skeleton keys do drop more than the strike specific they're replacing did.

I did 26-27 strikes to get a skelly key for my thorn quest, it's -blam!-ing bullshit

There's really no point in trying to get them. If you happen to stumble upon one whole playing, then cool. Another Destiny failure. The most unrewarding reward ever. And they're just from strikes. It's easier to farm 3x heroic AKSIS challenge than one key from a strike playlist.

Same, I just did 10 strikes in a row and not a single key has dropped, and this isn't even close to the first time this has happened to me

6 RepliesI would love for Bungie to buff the drop rate for keys. However, the skeleton key system was put in place to stop people from farming a Nightfall to get strike specific loot. In addition I feel the drop rate for the keys was decreased due to various people complaining about how other players were able to use them to hit the max level cap in a matter of days.

They should add a weekly feature that you get 1 guaranteed for completing a strike or nightfall. And the vanguard streak should be more weighted on the drop rate for skeleton keys. Or a system similar to the three of coins where for every progressive strike you complete the chance of dropping gets higher. And maybe resets once one does drop.

Just stick with 320 Strikes and speed run them. As long as you don't back out and keep going you'll get 1 every 4-5 Strikes. Pop a 3oCs on each strike and you'll be hitting a gold mine. Stick with it.

5 RepliesNightfall used to drop the specified loot at a very high rate, most time one out of three, sometimes even all three toons... Now the keys are here instead of direct loot, I've had one key from nightfalls since the change, just one.... That's a mistake from bungie surely? Terrible drop rate.....
