"Ghost bullets" - a public service announcement

Okay I will start off by saying that I don't think hand cannons are balanced and that they need a buff of sorts, but I don't use the different archetypes enough to say what that should be. Everyone seems to complain about ghost bullets. They say that they make hand cannons inconsistent. And yes that is true. And I think that is the point. Nowadays if you get a good hand cannon that feels consistent the one stat which is higher is the range. People who don't know much about hidden stats and the inner workings of destiny think that range is purely for damage falloff and aim assist purposes but it's not. It's linked to the accuracy of a weapon too The main time you hear of accuracy is with perks like persistence and maybe a couple more and people automatically assume it is linked with stability. It's not. Just like with a lot of shooters there is hidden code which basically dictates a tight cone from the barrel of the gun which gives a bit of leeway to where a bullet goes. When you aim down sights a lot of people think that the hip fire cone is no longer in effect but it is, just a lot tighter. This is shown well in games like borderlands which show this much more visually. If this is not completely how it works then feel free to correct me This effect has obviously been increased since the house of wolves hand cannon meta in either several patches or in a single patch, I can't really remember all the patch notes they have released but I think it was around the taken king that they decreased accuracy for consecutive shots. If I was to make a suggestion for a buff I would say increase the range at which the cone of accuracy falloff starts however maybe increasing the angle of the cone slightly so you are punished the same amount as you are now at long range but they are consistent at the short ranges and medium range for hand cannons fully perked out for range
