The reticle is way too difficult to see. Bungie acknowledges this and is going to fix it but probably not until the full version ships. However this low tech solution will have you no scoping in no time.
1. Take a piece of paper and cut out a circle about 5mm in diameter.
2. Use a Sharpie to color it black.
3. Put it on the sticky side of a piece of scotch tape.
4. Carefully tape the black dot on your TV screen precisely in the center of the reticle. Its location never changes.
Now you can see where you're aiming, hooray!

Already cut to size and with a sticky back. Available at all good stationary stores, or from your work stationary cupboard.
And apparently they have Avery Johnson's seal of approval!

Why not just sharpie your whole TV black. That way you can pretend it's nighttime and you can't see your enemies.

This would kill a HDTV screen with an anti glare coating. I can believe I'm encouraging this but: Use a cut out section of the adhesive portion of a post-it note, they leave very very little residue. Color dark or use blue paper note.

You could use a dry-erase marker. -This coming from a SD TV owner haha. [Edited on 05.12.2010 10:42 PM PDT]
Posted by: Methew u give everyone and everything a character defining mole! It's not just aiming. It's seeing your reticule bloom too.
Yeah that's why you have to make the black dot pretty small, otherwise it covers up the bloom. 5 mm is a good size.
-
Why not just sharpie the dot onto the TV? Not only do you get precise aiming but you give everyone and everything a character defining mole! It's not just aiming. It's seeing your reticule bloom too. [Edited on 05.12.2010 10:32 PM PDT]

I'd try this but I don't wanna harm my HDTV. Lol this made me laugh though.
-
DMR works pretty well Just remember not to start ignoring reticle bloom because you're focused on the black dot.
-
I may have to try this tomorrow, what gun is an average sized reticule that will help for all guns?
-
Yeah I started doing it in H3 because my favorite map was Avalanche and it's hard to see the light blue reticle against the light blue sky and white snow.... just about everything in the map is light blue or white.
-
I'd use this even when it gets fixed. I did it for Halo 2 once for perfect headshots, worked like a charm.
